You can also used ground turkey for this recipe. Can be dried in either a food dehydrator OR the oven.

Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Beef Jerky

1 pound ground beef, extra lean
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
4 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
4 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt

Recipe Directions for Homemade Beef Jerky

  1. Blend seasonings and mix well into the meat. Put seasoned meat into a container with a tight lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, stirring a couple of times.

  2. When ready to prepare, roll tablespoons of mixture between your hands to make a long, thin snake. Place on foil-lined sheet pan and flatten to about 1/16" (very, very thin!). You can use your hands/fingers to do this or try a rolling pin; I used my fingers.

  3. Dry in a dehydrator, turning once, for 3 or 4 hours at 145F to 155F. Or, dry in the oven set to the lowest possible temperature for about 4 hours, turning once or twice.

  4. Let cool and wrap each piece in foil.
