Recipe Ingredients for Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

30 oz Tomato Sauce
2 1tsp Olive Oil
6 oz Tomato Paste
0.25 cup Sugars, Granulated
16 oz Beef, Ground, 80% Lean Meat / 20% Fat, Crumbles
0.75 cup, chopped Onions
0.75 cup, chopped Peppers, Sweet, Green
0.75 cup pieces Mushrooms
3 cloves Garlic
2 tsp Oregano, Ground
2 tsp, leaves Thyme, Dried
2 tsp, ground Basil, Dried

Recipe Directions for Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

  1. Mince the garlic and chop the onions, peppers and mushrooms.

  2. Put the oil in deep skillet and brown the meat, garlic, onions, peppers and mushrooms.

  3. Once the meat is browned add the tomato sauce (roughly 2 cans) and the tomato paste.

  4. Season the sauce with the sugar and spices to taste.

  5. Heat mixture until warmed all the way through.

  6. Serve over a high-fiber pasta or rice.
