I moved away from my family at the end of Feb this year. I was doing really well until about the past month, I've been getting homesick. I'm not too far from home its about an hour and 20min flight and often we can get cheap airfares around $120 - $150 return. I'm having a few money issues at the moment so I can't go back very often.
Has anyone else had home sickness, how did you resolve it?
Stay busy. Don't sit still. Don't watch TV. Go out and do something. Try something new. Write letters. Yeah, old fashioned ones! It's so much fun to get those in the mail. Familiar handwriting is a big comfort to me. Etc etc. Good luck! I hope you cure it.
Thanks :) I have been keeping pretty busy but got a few bills to pay lately and havnt had so much money to go out and do things. And it rains ALL the time here so I can't get out for a run or walk too much (hopefully as summer kicks in it will rain less). I have a friend I went to high school with up here and I am trying to catch up with her a bit more often to make me feel a little more at home. I think I am just in a bit of a downer spot at the moment and I just need a little time to pick up again!
That's good, I totally understand what you mean. I moved home from college 6 months ago and still get really sad missing my friends sometimes! I hope things get better for you.
