Keep me honest! I'm 30, looking for buddy looking to lose 100-150 lbs.
I'm 5"6, need to lose 140 lbs, female, grossed out by myself, but that's all changing.
I believe in accountability. Let's do this!
I've already lost 100 + lbs but I have to say that you don't look like you can afford to lose that much! You look great from your profile pic! Good luck!
~H~
Thanks! I weigh 291.
I need to post some unsightly pics! Lord knows they're out there.
Freakin WOW on your weight loss. Do you have before and after pics? How did you beat the plateaus?
Hi Kellyfabulous
I'm similar to you so maybe we would be good for each other as buddies. I'm 28, female, 5'4", starting weight 242lbs, now 232lbs! So happy with it so far, have only been on CC for a month but seems to be working well.
My high blood pressure is down to anormal level too, which I'm more happy about! It got so high the docs were talking about putting me on medication....lifelong! Eeek! So alll is good. I want to get down to about 70kg (154lbs) so I have about 80 to lose.
I agree some accountability would certainly help, like last night we chinese takeaway......
I would love to be apart of the team. I am 31 weighing 220 lbs with a belly measurement of 45 inches. I've got to do something before my health starts to deteriorate.
hi im 29 and was 19 stone now 233 pounds but finding it hard im also 5ft 6 and would love to have someone to talk to about progress.my son is 4 and i want to run and play with him without feeling like a total blubber puss as everything moves and keeps moving after i stop lol.
Hi I'm 30 (this year), 225 lbs, 5'10" - I've lost 50 lbs and I've got another 58 to go. Welcome and "you can lean on me"!

It took me 7 months to lose 83 lbs, and I maintained for almost a year. Then I got really sick and gained 30 lbs over the course of almost a year - but now I'm getting better and the weight is coming off again. I've lost 8 lbs this week.
Tips: I like eating mostly natural foods - nothing with a lot of processing. Stick to 5 ingredients or less. However, I'm a class overeater, and I need help with portions, so for treats I buy jello cups, cheese in individual sticks, and even singles chocolate bars. Anything in "mini" portions so I feel like I'm getting something and not putting half of something away.
Also, use salad dressing or soup stock to cook meat/meals in the frying pan. Light salad dressing already has oil in it, and it adds a great taste to the meat. Also, when it's nearly absorbed, you can add a little water to the pan and it fizzles up and caramelizes the little bits and pieces in the pan - and the meat too. And it's less than 30 calories, instead of 80 + for a tbsp of oil.
Another tip would be get a rebounder/mini-trampoline, and when watching TV, ever commercial you get on and jog in place. It just helps replace the sedentary with a little activity - and it's great for your core strength.
And have as many people to talk to about your weight as possible. When I can't spill what I did - either good or bad - I feel isolated, and that makes me want to find comfort elsewhere, i.e. food.
hi yeah food has always been my crutch when im down and my weight got up to 266 pounds as i had depression and put on alot of weight during my pregnancy and after my c section!
I got down to 248 and stayed there for 3 years but i didnt care as having depression my self image was rubbish and i had no motivation
Now i am 233 pound and i am so glad i found this site as having people to talk to and share things with is great and i sure ill keep going now as i want to be back to the happy healthy weight i was b4.
Hi.
Im 39, (yesterday was 6 months till the big 4-0) and I've always been overweight but somehow I "carried it well" Two years ago I started losing weight and went down from size 20 to 16, sometimes 14 depending on the cut. Wow that was exciting.
I am a nurse and was working on a physically demanding floor, but got injured last year and the pounds started creeping up. It didnt help my partner and I started a business, and suddenly we were so busy we ended up eating at midnight, and whats open then... McD's, Pizza, deep fried wings from the pub across the street...
So since Christmas, most of my pants don't fit, Im feeling terrible about myself, and the business is doing really well, and we are meeting a lot of people. We are doing marketing and promotions, so we will be in the public eye. I saw myself on tv and just about died... I dont recognize the big girl in the pictures, or even in snapshots...I dont feel this big.. Can I really be this big, with my size 16 and even 18 pants too tight...
So yesterday I weighed myself. 228.5 lbs.
This is not good. Im 4ft 4.5 inches.
This calculator with frame and so forth... my target weight is supposed to be 135. 93 lbs to lose! Even if I went down to 150, which I think might be more realistic for me, (I was 150 during university, a big bigger but cute and curvy!) Thas still over 75 lbs to lose.
My first instinct was to start Atkins, thats a good fast 10 lb weight loss for me, but I get sick of it and then sick... so no, the slow and steady wins the race is how Im doing this. I joined up yesterday and today is as good a day as any to start. ...
So, Im older than some of you, but am I still in?

Hey- i'm in the same boat--that one quickly approaching 40-- i'm 38. Also a nurse. Last Valentine's day i weighed in at 315 lbs. Today i am at 245. I am hoping to get to 175 ( 1/2 way there)...or more if possible. We can do it!
Of course you're still in! So anyone who joins this forum want to post their successes or failures. We will hold each other accountable.
I am just upset at myself for not starting to live like this at least a year ago. But I digress.

Don't feel bad... I have a hard time on the weekends keeping up with things as well. It is harder to get nutritional information from eating out than if we eat at home where I can control my food and what I decide to eat. There are a couple of apps for the iPhone that my bf downloaded for me so that when we do go out to eat I can see what the better options on the menu are before ordering. I will be honest, there is usually one day on the weekend that I do not enter my food on CC and count, but I have become so addicted to counting that I usually always have a rough number in my head and I still eat as healthy as possible!
Don't be discouraged and let yourself eat things you enjoy just don't go overboard and you will be fine. I don't think one day is really going to hurt your goal! Good luck!
Well we got a good group of people in here now with lots to loose so good luck everyone and lets keep it posted!!

I went out to eat with my boyfriend on Saturday and I asked the waiter for a nutritional guide. He literally laughed in my face and said the food here is so good because it's so bad.
So I did the best I could. I had 3 oz of grilled sirloin, house salad and two bites of rice. It looked smothered in butter.
Aren't the restaurants supposed to have at least one printed nutritional guide on hand? I already asked once and I wasn't going to press the issue. I looked up the restaurant before we went, and it wasn't included on CC. (Texas Roadhouse).
Oh well, I still lost weight last week!
Thats terrible they should br more aware in most pubs we have a low fat option here and even mc donalds have the calories on every wrapper thet the food comes in and a full list for b4 you order, with the huge weight issues on tv and stuff saying how fat we are(dunno if its the same in the us) maybe more should be done to help us all out and not just assume as we are fat we are gonna eat at home till we are thin again!!!!!
I too thought they were required by law to provide nutritional information, however, when I looked on Melting Pot's site they do not. Some resturaunts do and some don't but I always thought they had to.
Rainbow270, it is the same in the US. Our Country is on average, obese, and yet it is frustrating because of the availability of all the junk and that all the healthy stuff is sooo expensive that you can barely afford to eat anything but junk (even from the grocery stores!).
Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
This is the best way to picture a portion of pie or cake: Draw a circle to represent the circumference of the cake or pie (9" pie? 10" cake?... Read more
