I'm taking Hoodia (after a long and exhaustive search of the purest form--I'm well aware of the scams) and I am seeing fantastic results, and no side effects. I feel as if I have found a way to really help me on my weight loss adventure. I have about 25 lbs to lose and I work out almost every day. With Hoodia, I have absolutely no issue with staying within my allotted calories. Any one else out there using this? What do you think of Hoodia (the real, costly stuff, not the scam-junk)?

I haven't tried it but where did you get yours from?    The "real stuff"?

I've tried it, and I bought the ''real deal'' as well.

Still, it didn't work out as good as I thought it would for me. Frown I'm about to try hypnosis very soon !

It hasn't been tested by the FDA, nor is there much in the way of scientific research on it. One site listed several serious risk factors. It seems to me that anything you can't do the the rest of your life to stay the weight you want to stay is essentialy worthless. If you have to rely on a pill with unknown risks, then once you go off of it, you're back in the same boat.  Save your money.

I tried hoodia, and it was terrible. I developed a rapid hearbeat, paranoia, nausea, and panic attacks like I hadn't had in years. Mind you, this wasn't the "good stuff" but it wasn't the really cheap stuff either.

It also had caffine in it, which could cause all those things.

I would be willing to try it again, but I can't shell out a ton of money for something like this.

your probably able to eat less and be more conciouse of your diet because you've been working out every day, not because of the hoodia.

save your money and do this weight loss right girl.

it was the caffiene. hoodia doesn't do any of that bad stuff.

original poster- how many mgs are you taking a day?

i am taking 500 mg a day and it's helping a little. should i take more?

I used to take it..

It helped a bit with hunger, and I sometimes had better work outs.

But it messed up my digestive system pretty bad....

I still take it occasionally

in what way did it mess up your digestive system?

I did hypnosis and it worked, along with diet and exercise.  I went to a seminar and purchased a set of tapes that included one for stress which worked as well.  You must follow thru, which became my problem.  I don't have the hour a day to zone out and use my tapes - and haven't had for several years.  Once I stopped with the tapes and started with the stress again the pounds just poured back on.  Remember that it will work but you need to get to the root of your problem as well.

I found a good, pure brand too, and was on Hoodia for about 1½ years. At first I thought it helped, but when I stopped taking them (a couple of times) I didn't notice a difference any longer, my stomach might have shrunk, I don't know. But for me who doesn't drink coffee and therefore never get any caffeine, it was perfect. The pills didn't make me twitchy and paranoid like ephedra and caffeine does (ephedra is really bad, don't try it). I just seemed a bit more alert all the time, I could sleep just a little bit less, like 45 minutes less every night, and still I felt more alert, and because of that, happy.
