How did you get hooked?

What made you decide to try dancing and what has kept you dancing?

I actually never would have thought of ballroom dancing as a hobby, but I got a job as a receptionist at an Arthur Murray School of Dance, and now I can't imagine my life without it.

I did a dance class as a teenager and thought it was okay but not spectacular.  I ended up doing a bit without knowing anything because my martial arts studio also teaches ballroom and they were short on women.  So that got me dancing socially from time to time.  In the last few years I've done a lot of salsa on my own and then discovered argentine tango.

My wife and I started taking Dance Lessons for our wedding 3 months ago, Arthur Murray. The beginners program included a handful of dances...Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, "Club Swing". and we learned Rumba for our first dance. And.. I really got into it. Especially Swing and Club Swing. They were fun dances. Good for music we liked, and I had fun dancing with my wife. So we've kept at it. :)

I fell in love with dance when I took a social dance class in college to "expand my horizons".  I was completely hooked after that, and took at least a couple of classes a semester until I graduated.  Now, I just dance on weekends.  Usually at Dance Factory.
