Hello again:

I might not know your weight, height, or age, but I do know that you've been successful at weight loss.  I also know that, if you are 128-129, then you probably look much better than you might feel right now.  What you might be feeling is rushed.  You might want to lose weight so quickly that you feel like you failed if you don't.  You may also feel like you are depriving yourself, which is why you want to overindulge.  You can allow yourself some indulgences, so long as you plan for them when you eat.  And yes, the weather is warmer, which can discourage exercise.  Try exercising early in the AM when it is cooler.  If you can swim, then a public pool could help.

You had mentioned that you are "just a kid".  May I ask your age?  Also, you had mentioned that you're parents bring home unhealthy food.  Can you give me an example of what you think is unhealthy?  For example, when I was a kid, my mom would make certain I ate--and we had a lot of pasta for dinner, as well as everything else you could imagine.  I alway know that when I eat at my mom's the scale will go up.  But the food wasn't unhealthy--there was just a lot of it.

Hello,

Thanks for all your help. I do have a pool in my backyard but i never get up the energy to open the cover, wait for the ehat and pull on a bathing suit.

I am 13. My parents bring home lots of french/italian bread and pasta and lasagna and pasta with cheese and sauce baked.

well, i had that situation too.  rebelling against what they bring home does not work, as it causes fights and undue concern.  also, remember that at age 13, you are still growing, changing, etc, and from the parent's perspective, they may not want you to be "dieting" because they may think you are thinking more about being thin for social reasons than about eating healthy.  you may need to sit down and figure out why you are doing what you are doing, and if its for the right reasons, then you need to explain that to them.  it is hard when you are a teenager.

its not too bad, and you can encourage them to keep vegetables in the house as well to supplement the other foods, so you can have lasagna and salad.  again, its about how much you eat, not what you eat.

btw, i STILL try to convince my mom not to feed my dad too much pasta because its bad for his diabetes.  she'll cut out sugar, but does not understand how starches can be bad.  when i lecture, she gives me a pained expression and almost looks like she wants to cry, because she doesn't understand what she's doing wrong.

just keep your focus on healthy, not pretty.  i can guarantee you that you are already beautiful, so the few extra pounds don't matter.  what matters is a healthy heart, good circulation, good eating habits, and maintaining some activity in your lifestyle.  being a teen is stressful--and i have never forgotten that.  don't stress yourself out more with undue worrying.

as for the pool--its july.  have some fun with the family, and get the pool ready.  =]

Thank you again for all your help. i am looseing on counting ym calories; I am now trying to eat in moderation lots of fruits and veggies and low-cal snacks. i excercis eeveryday at 630 am so my parents don't know. That i am stric about, my excercise. I don't eat a big breakfeats and not a lot for lunch b/c whether i ea tnothing or 24 pound sof chocolat efor lunch, it doesen't matter-I will still come home raveneous. sO lately iv ebeene ating a granola abr or apple for breakfeast, an apple and granola ba ror 100-cal pack for lunch. My parents keep lot sof veggies and fruit in the hosue but tons of junk. i try to enourage whole-grain bread and low-cal granola bars, but they don't like change. today i did ge tome healthy granola bars, berries, apple,s cucumbers, low-fat salad dressing, crackers, and whole grain bread.

well just remember that protein and vegetable fats are okay, too.  it helps to keep you feeling full, and avoid being hungry the minute you get home.

why do you need to hide the fact that you are exercising?  that should be an activity everyone can enjoy.  in fact, the amount of people that i know that have started losing weight just because they bought a Wii is staggering!

I do eat lots of fruit and i'm increasing my veggie intake. i could use mor eprotein but i did have chicken yesterday.

I don't mind excercising when i'm doing like swimming ro biking or sftball but this is jillian michael's 30-day shred and my family would comment. plus i like working out in the morning more.

Oh,  that's okay then.  I was concerned that your parents wouldn't support you eating right and exercising, which would be very odd.  However, my parents were funny like that, mostly because of emotional and cultural reasons, and still are to some extent.  i'm glad to see that that is not the case.  For the record, i would probably say something negative about exercise tapes, mostly because i think there are better ways to get fit (like finding different activities that you enjoy and doing one of them daily).   Different things work for everyone, and so long as you're engaging in good habits, then keep practicing what works best for you.

getting enough of the right nutrition is hard.  eventually we all get the hang of it (or not), but it takes time.  i make mistakes DAILY, so i understand.

Yeah my parents encourage getting physical activity, but i don't think they wouldl ike the excercise video. they don't want me to gain too much muscle and they would think i'm becoming aneorexic.

I don't understand-what's negative about excercise tapeS? i like the structure of the,. although, i don't like that they dress the girls in barely anything, it's kind of discouraging to their flat stomachs.

I try to eat as best i can and it's hard. Everyone says when your young you have a fast metabolism and can eat whatever you want without gaining anything which is unture. i guess it's easier for us but not easy. and all the kids my age can eat all this junk and not gian anything-i guess it's true about a lot of teenager sbut certainly not me.

I just don't like all of the super-skinny women in the videos.  I don't find that encouraging.  It seems to say "this is what you should look like" and i don't think its fair to make people feel bad about themselves.  the least they should do is wear t-shirts.

Yes, that's somethign I completely agree with. One girl is wearing a tnak top and I think she looks the best. In Jane fonda's aerobics videos everyone is wearing leotards, I like that better and they look great.
