Okay, so apparently I got blood work done yesterday and it showed that my liver is starting to shut down. However, since I am 19 I am old enough to decide whether or not to go check myself into the hospital and get intravenous tube fed....but honestly, I would rather eat the calories, then have them pumped through my nose....
Has anyone with anorexia ever been to the hospital to be refed? If so, how many calories did they put you on? And did you eat real food as well as tube fluid?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share your hospital experiences, I need to make a big decision tonight.....so please help, im begging.
God Bless!

Go to the hospital.
Clearly eating your calories hasn't worked, so why endanger your life any further?
honey---I too am 19 and striving to recover from anorexia..
TRUST ME when I tell you that I fully understand the fear you are feeling right now concerning your decision to either GO to the hospital,..or do this on your own BUT:
If you have had tests done that gave results showing your LIVER is shutting down then I truly think (as scary as it may feel) that you need to check yourself in. They can do SO much more for you SO much more efficiently. They can monitor the right AMOUNTS of EVERY essential nutrient you need and once you get there, I am 100% sure that they will make you feel so much more at peace with the choice you made.
I recently went to a local walk-in clinic because I was having HEART palpitations. Fortunately--all of my blood tests, thyroid test, EKG came back clean and I had the opportunity to decide once and for all that CHANGES HAD TO BE MADE RIGHT THEN AND THERE. I am getting there slowly and steadily---it's hard--but it has definitely been getting a little easier as I go.
Everyone here is looking out for your BEST interest and I am sure that most
will say that the SMARTEST,..HEALTHIEST thing to do, and the WISEST choice to make is to check yourself in.
Please keep us posted malpal10!!! I'll be praying for you!
