I tried browsing through the exercise categories, but couldn't find much. Anybody have any ideas how much I'd be burning by being a hostess? I'm working five nights a week as a hostess and never sit down on my shifts which range from three hours to about six, if I'm closing which includes cleaning the bathrooms and carpet. Like tonight I was on my feet there for almost six and a half hours.
I'd put that as light walking. Maybe strolling? Do you have to bus tables as well?
Not sure but you could try buying a pedometer from walmart (cost is around $5) they measure distance, steps and calories burned. They arent perfect but its a guestimate.
usually the servers bus the tables... unless their really busy, we need the table, or i'm bored do i have to bus the tables. the pedometer is a good idea though... it'd be a great way to see how much walking around campus i do too.
You're mostly standing and walking around in a fairly small area, but doing it non-stop for hours on end... so I'd put it down as 'walking shopping'.
