I think I could fry an egg on the sidewalk!
****
Okay, not really. Actually, the air temperature outside is quite chilly.
But has anyone ever tried to cook an egg outside? Does it work?
I haven't tried it, but I did hear Alice Cooper complaining about the Phoenix news trotting that same old story out again (apparently they do it every year when the temperature gets around 120). I can say for certain that you can give yourself some seriously sore feet by walking barefoot on asphalt in July in Arizona! I've also heard stories about playgrounds with black rubber floors giving some toddler second-degree burns.
It has snowed for 5 straight days here.
When I was a kid and living in Saudi Arabia, I burnt my feet on the hot asphalt and after bandaging them went out to try and fry an egg on it. It did not fry, it maybe turned a little white around the edges but that's about it. I was really disappointed. And had to clean up raw egg.
I never 'fried' an egg on a side walk but in school we did 'cook' one on the dash of a very hot car.
... milk was a bad choice.

Here's some interesting info!

Ouch! That sounds like it hurt!
Thanks guys, maybe I can try freezing an egg outside...
Did it for a science experiment. Didn't work, ):
Albeit, it wasn't really THAT hot, since I procrastinated, ;D
Hot?! I wish it were hot out here!!! MMMM... cooking an egg outside... on the side walk would be rather dirty no?
Hmm. It's always hot here (I live in Malaysia). It might be worth a shot, but I really can't be bothered wasting an egg like that!

yep yep. I live in Tucson, which is even drier than Phoenix. The first time we tried to fry an egg on concrete, my dog ate it [lol] but we tried it again this year, and it worked, albeit very slowly! It took a few hours before the egg was decently cooked. My mom makes sun tea, though, by leaving some teabags inside a jug of water out in the front yard for about 2 hours or so (:
