Are you a Housewife & a Mom? If so, this is your 2009 Weightloss Challenge! (Women only!)


Put down your bonbons and get out the belted leotards and legwarmers for 2009! (haha!) I wanted an open challenge that we weigh in officially every 2 weeks on Thursdays but more often if you'd like. This will stay open for all of 2009, any Mom & Homemaker can join up at any time, and we weigh in for the Finale Weigh-In on Dec 31st, 2009. I'll track weights w/ dates and update it each week, counting down to New Year's Eve!

Whether you call yourself a Homemaker, a Housewife, or a Stay-at-home-Mom it has it's own challenges and rewards! Add making your husband feel like it's worth him being the sole-breadwinner in a modern American society that portrays wives who don't work outside the home as being lazy or worthless instead of a manager of her home to keep the family running smoothly and being available 24/7 for the family's needs ... And adding being pregnant to having a houseful of ankle-biters about to add to every day mundane living can pack on the pounds and before you know it, you're the chubby Mom in sweats and T's with hair that's always in a ponytail, rarely made up, and becoming just kind of dowdy-looking! Let's bring back the sex appeal, self-respect, AND be a good role model for our children on maintaining good health!

This challenge is for all of us plus some girltalk! Recipes, housekeeping tips, homework & project ideas, pets, crafts, date nights, whatever is great to add in plus the weightloss and exercise strategies! Start Today!!

Ok, I'm in! I am 33 and have 5 kids, one of which I am homeschooling. I have tried working in the past, but I love my family and things run smoother with a mom at home to take care of things. Yes, it can be exhausting at times and we don't always have enough money but we make it! Here are my stats....

I'm 41 and have three kids. I home school my oldest (special needs.) I look forward to keeping in touch and encouraging each other. I'll be greatful to be healthier in anyway.

Im in! Im a SAHM of a sweet 3 y/o boy (Orion). I was working for a while, but it seemed i was only working to pay daycare, and bringing home maybe 75$ a week... Not worth it! Im 25 (almost 26), 5'7", large frame.

I'm a stay at home mother to a 7 month old and I'd love to join....i really would like to lose that last 10 pounds from my pregnancy to my son (Riley)....and tone up my midsection....anyway, i just joined calorie count today so.....

I am a SAHM of a daughter who will be 3 in April, and I am planning on home schooling her. I also have a 10 year old daughter that I share custody of. They are my pride and joys! I am married to a great guy who got me a treadmill for my birthday in december...so that is what I do 6 days a week to excersize, besides the house cleaning, ect. I do 30-35 on it at about 3.5 MPH at an incline...I hope to be able to more as time goes on.

 

I am interested in supporting whoever is in need, so feel free to e-mail me if you are feeling the need for x-tra support, or a kick in the mommy jeans !!

Hi! I'm Carlyn. 26, 5'4", have a 2 year old at home and an 8 year old that I see every other weekend. Both boys. I don't have a lot of weight left to lose. Started at 159 and am currently at 127 and really only want to lose about another 7-10 pounds. But I am really focused and want to be able to maintain my weight and build muscle at the same time. I jog 3 times per week and do crosstraining the other two - three days. I really like the idea of having other women to talk to that have children. I really want to home school my two year old and if anyone has advice on that I am all ears. I can certainly motivate as I have managed to lose over 30 pounds in the last year. I lost the most of it from Oct/08 to now because I started using CC. Before that I was just losing weight extremely slowly through exercise alone and eating what I wanted. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

I would love to join! I am a stay at home mommy to a 3 and 6 year old.  My husband is self employed and its just me and the kids ALOT.  I'd love some adult interaction and motivation!  I am 30 years old, 203lbs, 5'4", medium framed.

Hi! I'd like to join too.  My name is Robyn, I'm 29, and a SAHM to 4 kids ages 9, 7, 5, and 2.  Our youngest has special needs.  I try to get on my treadmill 5 days a week for at least 1/2 hr and recently started doing Jillian Micheal's DVD 30 day shred.  OUCH!  Is all I have to say to that!!!

Hmmm....it doesn't look like much of anybody has been keeping up with this thread??? What's going on ladies???? Anyway, yesterday was my weigh in day and I lost 1lb. I know it's only a pound but hey, it's 1lb. closer to my goal so I am happy about it. Here are my stats for the week:

My scale said 236 yay! 2lbs!
