How's the food analysis percentages done on CC??
Fat - 36.9% (31 grams)
Protein - 40.0% (76 grams)
Carbohydrates - 23.1% (44 grams)
Knowing a gram is a gram, how does CC figure the fat to be such a high percentage of my total calories when it's the lowest amount of logged grams?
Anybody know how this is figured? At first I thought maybe it was because 1 gram of fat = 9 calories, but a gram is a gram.
31 x 9 = 819 cals, 76 x 4 = 304 cals, 44 x 4 = 176 cals
If this were the case, the highest percentage reported would be the fat, then protein, and lastly carbs, but that's not the case as protein's #1, then fat, then carbs.
So how in the sam hell does CC figure these percentages??
Interesting... My analysis currently is this:
Fat - 18.2% (18 grams)
Protein - 37.3% (81 grams)
Carbohydrates - 44.5% (97 grams)
Alcohol - 0.0%
Other - 0.0%
which if calculated on percentage of total grams would be 9%, 41% and 49% respectively. 9% 41% 49%
Texnez, your intuition is right,...but your math is not ![]()
It seems that the percentages are % of total caloreis, not % of total weight
31x9=279, 76x4=304, 44x4=176, so total calories are 759, and
279/759=37%, 304/759=40% and 176/759=23% (aprox)
