Huh. Michael Jackson died too?

WTF? Apparently a bad day to be a celebrity. Michael Jackson supposedly  died just now.

People, people, people! a thread started for those who want to offer condolences regardless of who the deceased is, is not the place to start a cat fight.

Everyone has their own opinion on everything but when it comes to death a negative opinion is best kept to yourself.

Speaking ill of the dead will come back and bite you three fold.

Regardless of what people thought he was or was not guilty of he is dead and no longer answerable to us.

Let the man rest in peace!

Of course, you're absolutely right - want to share some chocolate?  :D

Just because someone dies doesn't automatically make them a great person.

too bad he didn't die years earlier so he could've left with a tiny shred of dignity.

but, alas - MJ and dignity are like oil and water.

RIP..MJ and Farrah Frown

did farrah fawcett kick the bucket last night too? ..now that's a tragedy Frown

This man was human just like the rest of us.. We all make mistakes.. I'm so sorry for his childrens loss. They lost the only parent they know, and I do wonder what is going to happen to the children like the rest of you. I was looking for a report that it was a mistake, but it's not, and Michael Jackson will be truly missed.. He's been sick for a long time.. I heard he had heart problems in the pass. With the 2nd set of charges that was brought against him, and he was so sick he reported to court in PJ's that day. Well.. This man is at rest now, and let his great music live on. I'm not going to say he was a great man. I just going to say. HE will be missed by all, and the ones who truly loved and understood him the most. Rest in Peace MJ..

That's not what i said though ali, but there are people who do think he was.

It doesn't matter to me who the person is you just don't mud sling the dead...

How sad has this world become!

Death is the one true time that negativity should be muted.

No argument can justify it....it is wrong.

The first ethereal, musical Prophet to leave us since Lennon.

No one, inspite of his alleged Major flaws, can deny that he transcended decades of music evolutions, shaped the music world and industry, meant a lot to many many millions of fans, and suffered greatly in his own exploited and tortured life.

he taught the world to dance :)

and regardless, as a world citizen, the numerous innocents who have died at the hands of greed and ruthlessness ..

MJ? please.

ETA: what i'm alluding to: this world we live in is a pretty sick, sad place.

What do the historical actions of the US Government and the former POTUS have to do with the death of Michael Jackson?

Farrah and Michael?

This is just like when the media coverage of Princess Diana's death overshadowed the death of Mother Theresa.

*wants to make out with splitrail for this post*

Iz a conspiracy, santonacci.  That nasty, nasty man, George W. Bush, put a hit out on Michael so the world wouldn't notice the car bomb that went off in Baghdad (which was undoubtedly his fault, as is every other icky thing that goes on in the world today).

i totally never saw this coming at all! i'm not a huge fan of michael jackson, but i was a fan of his music. i don't know why, but i felt like he was immortal or something hahah :\

I didn't think he was immortal but I expected him to live to AT LEAST 180.

He was, indeed, a tortured soul, Sparks. RIP.

It is not a comparison of Michael Jackson to John Lennon. They were both musical prophets.

Look, you don't have to like MJ.  But you cannot deny that his music was revolutionary and he was a huge inspiration to generations of musicians.  A lot of people are upset or surprised at his death.

If Dick Cheney was to kick the bucket tomorrow, as much as I can't stand him, I wouldn't use his death as a chance to voice my dislike of the man. Have some basic respect for people.  Jesus.

And yes, MJ was just as important to music as Lennon was, regardless of what his personal issues were.  They were important in different ways, but they were both still important.

i can't deny, i have never been, nor will i ever be, an MJ fan.  i'm not sure if he was still human at this point anyway.  and sorry - still offended that anyone would think to compare him to the genius that was john lennon and the beatles.

and as far as if cheney kicked the bucket tomorrow, i would totally glorify in that fact! Cool

There are people I won't miss, but I do not glorify in anyone's death.

And once again, no one compared Michael Jackson to John Lennon. They both simply were muscial geniuses. There is a third musical genius, Prince.

egads! you and i simply 100% disagree on this fact. i think lennon far surpasses both prince and MJ.

and i stand by my need to party on if cheney kicks it. *bleeding left-wing liberal here* Tongue out
