Hula hoops

Quote  |  Reply
Is it only the weighted hula hoops that tone your stomach or does using those regular ones have the same effect? I've been meaning to hula hoop for awhile now because my stomach is my only problem area but can't seem to find a regular one and don't feel like shelling out money for the weighted ones unless it's worth more in the end with the payoff.

the heavier, the easier. i just got one, its a beaut! big too! not like my whamo hoop from the 60s...
And it's worth the money?
worth the money...a subjective concept. i bore easily, and have been exercising for years. i like new activities. so for me, yes.
Where can you find a weighted one? I would like to get one eventually but I have never seen one.  I totally LOVED my flimsy one till it broke and dripped yucky water all over me and my carpet.
I just heard about some hot new workout that is focused around hula hoops, apparently its all the rage right now...
I'm an avid hooper (not originally to be active but for fun and tricks). I can say that the weighted ones are way worth it. Hoopgirl.com sells weighted hoops for as little as $25, but you can also get something called "wave hoops" from k-mart or toys r us. They are not weighted but filled with liquid and only $5 so very worth it. They are what I started with and are still a lot of fun.

Articles say that you can burn up to 110 calories in 8 minutes of hooping. OK, that is my $0.02.
I got one from hoopgirl.com, and I'm addicted. I first got it to learn the tricks and dance, and have fun, but I realised the sweat is just pouring off me. Its a great workout for those who like to dance, and want to try something new.

wow i just looked at the hoopgirl website and shes amazing!!!! She transformed and got REALLY sexy thighs and a nice bum just what i really want !! I am definitley gonna get hold of a hoop and try it out because i've always wanted to dance as exercise but wasn't confident... i bet this will be a lot easier to have real fun with!!
