I like it with raw veggies and pita chips.  So good!

I take a Matzo cracker. Then I shred a little cheese on it. I pop that in the micro for 30 seconds. Then I spread the garlic flavored humus on it. It is my favorite meal...about 300 calories but very filling.  Yum!

It's great in raw veggies (I like it with bell peppers the best), on a salad, or on a sandwich. It also tastes plain yummy on WW toast.

Heat up a pitta bread and cut into wedges or slice up some raw vegetables (peppers, carrots, cucumber, celery) and and use them to dip in the hummus.  It's delicious.  Hope you like it.

That's EXACTLY what I had for lunch today (in addition to my glass of water).  I had the roasted red pepper hummus, which is my favorite.

A healthy dose of veggies, fiber and protein.  Now to get in a fruit for a snack and I'll have the food pyramid almost covered!  Good stuff!

chentxu, I've heard from some that hummus can be an acquired taste.

I'm eating hummus right now!  I usually have mine with a whole wheat pita pocket or carrotts.  My family likes to put it on crackers too, but they have less nutrition.

I love the roasted red pepper kind! The brand I love is Amir Foods, it's a local brand out of Cleveland, Ohio. I dip baby carrots in it! also mini pretzel twists, a baked soft pretzel, or green pepper slices are awesome with it. I uses it on wraps with low cal torts, carrots and green peppers. I also dip cubes of steamed seasoned tofu in it! Yummy!!! :-)

I love to make a sandwich with hummus, avocado, and tomato. It's really good=]

ooh I love hummus.

Favorites: Roasted red pepper hummus and apple sandwich.  Hummus mixed with bulgur wheat or whole wheat pasta. Dip for baby carrots, cucumber, pepper, apple, or pear. Hummus and tomato/bell pepper sandwiches. Hummus with cucumber and sprouts. Hummus with tofu and veggies.

It's also really good spread on bagels, english muffins, wraps, or pitas. When I do it on a pita, I make it into a pretend-pizza - spread hummus on top of pita, top with sliced tomato, mushrooms, pepper and tofu.

Me and hummus go way back haha. I've also discovered it makes a really great salad dressing if you add a bit extra olive oil or vinegar.

Hummus is probably my favorite food. All the suggestions of what to eat it with have been great. I like it on pretty much anything but my favorite is to simply spread it on a piece of toast. And roasted red pepper is my favorite variety.

Snap peas, carrots, red or green pepper, Triscuits!!! Everything Hummus rocks But like everything, you need to read the ingredients.  I recently bought some at Costco to serve at a bookclub I was hosting.  Didn't read the ingredients and afterward I was putting everything away and looked at the package and it had a whopping 12 grams of fat per serving because it had added olive oil and pine nuts.  Live and learn,,, and bring your reading glasses when you are shoppingEmbarassed

Lol , you europeans.

How to eat Hummus -  Take pita, Rip pita, dip in hummus (a lot of hummus), and eat.  Known in Israel as "wiping hummus"

This is how you eat hummus, Hummus is pretty nasty and weird with anything else.

Except maybe chicken + hummus+ pita.

One easy thing is celery and hummus. I like the cool, crisp celery with hummus. Another option is pita bread. One thing I do:

Take a whole wheat pita and cut into eight triangles. Spread on a baking sheet and sprinkle with curry powder and a little sea salt. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. You get warm, slightly crispy (and flavorful) pita chips that go great with hummus.

Pitta bread, cut open, spread with hummus, fill with grated carrot, sliced red onion and adzuki bean sprouts = my favourite lunch.

Thank you for your suggestions averyone!!

Now, I have a problem: I couldn't find hummus at the supermarket =( So...do any of you prepare their own or know a recipe that is good enough/perfect/delicious/something like that?? I would like to try making my own with a recipe that has alreayd been tested :P

Thank you!

If you can get your hands on Sabra hummus it is the best.  I love it with raw veggies, carrots, snap peas, whole wheat pita bread, and some light goat cheese feta.

Carla

Blend cooked garbanzo beans, garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil.   Add the olive oil while it's blending until it's a smooth consistency.  That's my basic recipe.  You can add whatever else you want, like roasted peppers, herbs, or whatever else.

My favorite thing to do with hummus is to take a flat out wrap (or whatever kind of wrap you like, I suppose a tortilla could work as well) then use whatever kind of hummus as a spread and lay down a bed of lettuce, carrots, cucumber, and green pepper. & presto!

I also like to take the wrap & toast it in a regular toaster so it gets all brown and like a baked chip and then dip it in hummus.

I'm pretty new to it too, but i usually have it with carrot sticks or then as a side dish with salad or with my food :)
