Hungary on days with no excersise

Quote  |  Reply

Hi All

I'm hoping someone can help me, so on Monday and Tuesdsay I had around 1600 cals, I done a workout in the morning and again at night burning an extra 500 cals, when I got home I found I wasn't all that hungry but on Wednesdays (my day off) I always seem to stuff my face even though I haven't really burnt any cals, I know its not boredom because I've been making sure I have something to do on the computer etc on Wednesdays.

Is there any reason why this could be, I work out 4 days a week now and all 3 days I'm not working out I seem to be very hungry all the time even if I'm busy, am I overdoing it so much that my body wants to stock up on days that I'm not excersising?

Any help would be much appreciated as I'm finding it hard to loose weight due to the constant bingeing.Frown

i assume you mean "hungry"? Hungary is a country...
This happens to me too sometimes.  I find that if I workout hard in the evenings and don't eat much afterwards before going to bed then i'm hungry the next day.  It's more than likely your body just making up the calories.  It's perfectly normal.  If you are concerned about it, try eating a little more after your workout, or having a slightly larger breakfast the next morning and see if that helps curb the ravenous hunger.  Or both, that's what I do.
I have the same problem:( Pushes me exercise every day! - how about that??:) - i dont go home till late on the days walking or going to movies on the days without exercise. Stay away from the fast food though!!:)))

When I exercise after those "lazy" days i think i burn calories from yesterday's "failures" - that can help not to feel VERY GUILTY!:))

Good luck!
Exercise is an appeitite suppressent, I read it in the Dr. Oz book and again somewhere else. Hard exercise stimulates your flight or fight response and ramps up the adreneline and other hormones and stuff to give you the energy to exercise, a byproduct of all that is a reduced appetite. Probably why you are more hungry on days where you don't work out. I am 99% all that is right, i'm going off memory because I don't have the book with me.
i agree with archer,
a good way to stop eating so much if distraction isnt working, is to guzzle water till youre ready to puke. its unpleasant, but it works.
or eat a pickle when you get hungry and you've reached your daily calories! that's what i do. 20 cals for a whole one, and half way through im tired of it (one can have too many pickles, sadly) and cant bring myself to eat anything else due to the taste.
always think about how great youll look at your goal weight, or look at your motivator as that also helps prevent binging.

Working out spikes your blood sugar a little thus making you not hungry. If you find yourself hungry take a quick and brisk 10-15 minute walk, even if its just around the house. This should help reduce the cravings. You can also try brushing your teeth when you get hungry...the fresh clean feeling can help you not want to stick something in your mouth and the sweet toothpaste can help if you're craving sugar. Chewing gum might also help.
How about eating when you're hungry?  If you're truly hungry that's your body telling you it needs food!  It's a biological condition you shouldn't ignore!

Feeding your body when it's hungry will actually prevent binging, since a lot of binge activity takes place when we get overly hungry from resisting the hunger urge to the point where we're frantic for food.

It's ok to go over calories one day and under calories the next.  It'll average out over the course of a week.  If you're under on the days you exercise because your appetite is suppressed and you eat a bit more on the days you don't, it'll even itself out over the week.  It's your body's natural regulatation system.

It's OK!  Really.
Thanks for all the advise Laughing
