has anyone found anything whether food/drink/activity that has proven to be a decent hunger suppressant. i am struggling with the fact that im constantly snacking and those calories are adding up!!!
Snack on protein & fat; not carbs. 100 calories of low fat cheese or lean cold cuts will keep you satisfied longer than 100 calories of chips, crackers or cookies. I never snack on carbs because I feel like I didn't even eat anything when I'm done - hunger pangs get even worse! Save carbs for mealtimes rather than snacks.
Good luck!
Water water water. Keep some with you all day and if you feel like munching, CHUG it till you can't drink anymore. It'll definitely fill your stomach and curb that snack-ish feeling till your next meal.
Water doesn't work for me. I find protein & fiber work good. I'll have a 100 cal vitatop or muffin and I'm satisfied.
I agree that protein keeps you satisfied longer, fiber helps you feel full longer as well.
For instance, if I have protein for breakfast (eggs or chicken (yeah, I eat lunch for breakfast)) I stay satisfied longer than if I were to have a bowl of cereal or oatmeal.
Surprisingly, I find that if I drink 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar (raw, unfiltered) in 8 oz of water, it suppresses my hunger for 3-4 hours. I've therefore got into the habit of having my "cocktail" about 7 p.m. each night.
Fiber One cereal really fills you up.
I eat because I'm bored a lot, so I got in the habit of snacking on frozen blueberries, celery with a tiny bit of dressing, or dill pickles. Those all are really low cal and help me get past boredom cravings.
Special K protein Water. I can't say enough about the stuff. Tastes good, and it's quite filling actually. It's only 30 cal and has a good serving of protein and fiber.
cranberry extract caps.
and i drink the 100% juice mixed with water allllll day long. i did it at first to help with water retention and it seems to make me eat less and feel fantastic. oh and i take alot of vitamin e with it to.
drawback- you pee ALOT.
has this helped you lose weight?
Hot tea is awesome--find a flavor you like and avoid adding anything to it (I prefer loose leaf teas--much tastier). The time it takes for me to prepare and enjoy a nice cup of tea is often enough to distract me from snacking. Just keep reminding yourself that mealtime will be here soon enough!
yogi tea has this ''fasting tea'' that's pretty nice. even though you aren't fasting it's great for hunger. i'm sure most tea would work

not that i have the proof that its the canberry but i have lost 20pnds and that and the vitamin e are the only supplements i take. idk it works for me- i think it has made me feel so good i dont emotionally over eat like i use to.
so, hmmm. it it the cranberry? for me it is.
Instead of eating breakfast before work, I pack a few things like a handful of mixed nuts/some craisins (something with fat/protein in it), a sliced up apple, etc., so that I can snack my morning calories away here and there before lunch. It is the morning that is the toughest for me. I also go for losing a pound a week; that way I can eat more calories and keeps me satisfied and in the long run I am more successful losing weight slowly rather than rapidly. Vitamin D3 helps too, and lots of water.
