How hungry should you be before you go to bed?
I always eat until I'm satisfied throughout the day, but then at night come 11 or midnight or so I am usually really hungry, but I don't like to eat that late at night because I always feel gross and bloated. Anyhow, I was just wondering how you all feel at night? Slight hunger or a lot?
I get hungry before bed after I take my Ambien I like to have something.. so I stick to a Smart Pop 100 calorie popcorn pack (it's actually 110 calories). When I wasn't eating that I'd cut up an apple. Usually a 100 calorie snack because I look forward to it.
(so slight hunger i feel, i guess that seems normal)
i find that if i'm realllllly hungry before bed that i can't sleep.
i would also recommend a 100 -150 calorie snack before bed if you are hungry....by stray away from carbs since they obviously aren't converted quickly during sleep as well as inhibit HGH.... i usually go for a something high protein like a glass of milk, or a few almonds
I think going to bed hungry is pretty miserable. A light snack at bedtime is much nicer. Something simple like a slice of toast and a milky drink is a good combination.... lactose and carbohydrate combined are natural relaxants.
A diet hot choc or horlicks or something generally fills my gap and only has like 30-40 cals, otherwise have a small piece of fruit or yoghurt or something
You might want to look at moving your dinner time meal to a later time as the problem may well lie in your eating too early and then not eating again during the several hours before you go to bed.
I find that a low calorie hot chocolate drink can be a good way to fill the gap as it takes a while to drink so seems like more a supplement than it is.
Also personally I have been taking EAS CLA to help me out by enhancing my weight loss and I have found they have a natural appetite suppressent in them which is helping me at night time a lot. Now I have no night time hunger at all even if I am up to midnight.
I get really hungry before bed too and can't sleep unless I have a little something. I have been having some milk. I also like a graham cracker.
I dislike going to bed sooner than 2h (or later than 4h) after I have eaten, normally I just shift my dinner time accordingly and perhaps incorporate more snacking after lunch if I know it`s going to be a long day.
I don't know about should, but my preference is to eat my last meal at around 5pm. I go to bed at about 9pm and go to sleep at about 11, but I like to be light and hungry when I sleep. I dream of food all night LOL
. Judging by the rest of the comments, this is NOT the norm.
I eat dinner at about 5:30-6:00, but then I don't get hungry again, and I go to sleep at 11 usually. Guess I'm even weirder that I'm not hungry in the evening usualy.
Personally I get hungry every 3hours, so if I have a late afternoon snack I hold dinner off until 7ish, otherwise I have dinner at 5 and have a snack around 8. If it makes you feel gross and bloated to eat at 11pm have a pre-emptive snack earlier in the evening.
I often go to bed with slight hunger but not if im starving, I'll just wake up in a few hours famished and that will ruin my whole night of sleep!
i think it depends on your routine and what works for your life.. as long as you stay within your daily calories and you arent waking up at 3am to eat, its probably fine either way.
personally, ive gotten into the habit of being a very heavy eater in the morning-early afternoon, and slowly tapering off and having my last meal around 4 or 5. granted, i usually go to bed at 9:30 or no later than 10, but because i eat so much in the morning and my body is so used to that schedule, i dont feel very hungry at night at all. and i sleep very comfortably through the night now. i wake up at 5am pretty much every day so.. that just works for me. i also eat about 6-700 calories with breakfast, and less and less as the daily meals continue.. and a very light dinner usually some fish and vegetables... or a boca burger.. usually no more than 300 calories tops.
Before bed its good to have a caesin protein like cottage cheese with a healthy fat to slow the digestion process. Try having some cottage cheese or yogurt with some nuts before bed.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
