But I am over my calorie limit.....should I eat?
I ate a lot of mozzarella cheese sticks today. They added lots of calories on, but they didn't fill me up!
I will never count on them again. You would think the protein would be good for you. Bread would have been a wiser choice. Sigh...
I would say no. As long as you have eating your recommended calories for the day, then dont eat anything. You might be just used to eating at a specific time, or you might be feeling hunger as a reaction to being nervous or bored...
If you really do feel you need to eat- do something that is very low calorie so you wont feel like you "ruined the day" or anything like that.
I think it depends. If you're hungry and craving something specific and healthy, I'd have a small amount of it. e.g. Sometimes, I get fruit cravings or protein cravings because I've neglected one of those food groups that day. If you're really hungry but it's not specific, make yourself a salad or have some carrot sticks or something else high-bulk low-cal.
One day of eating closer to maintenance (or even at maintenance) won't hurt you at all. And now you know that mozzarella sticks don't fill you up so you won't eat lots again.
You should eat.... Reading your other posts it seems you're not well physically or mentally and your body and brain needs nourishment of all kinds. If you're hungry, you're underweight and if your poor, abused body is telling you it needs to eat, eat and stop ignoring it.
I say eat...I haven't read other posts of yours but if your body is telling you you're hungry, feed it. If you feel guilty, then you'll have a reason to skip the mozzarella sticks next time and go for something healthy! You need to take care of your body, and if it wants food, feed it.

protein is good for you in moderation. and while cheese has protein i would not use it as my main source of protein, even if you don't eat meat there are better protein sources, like beans.

i don't think so. while everyone responds differently to different food i know for me bread would NEVER fill me up for any length of time, even a truly whole grain one.
i agree with some of the other responds that if you really are hungry then eat, otherwise you might end up binging. one way to tell if are actually hungry is to try drinking a glass or two of water and see if you are still hungry after that. if you are then go for something with high bulk, but low cal. veggies are generally good for this. when i've had a day where i know my daytime calories were higher that i prefer i choose to have a salad for dinner. i pick a light salad dressing to go with it, but leave out the cheese and croutons. hope this helps!
good luck!
Listen to GI Jane - she knows what she's talking about, and I can see from your other threads that she's already given you some good advice. I recommend heeding it.
common sense says: "when you're hungry.. eat."
Your body obviously needs those extra calories. Think about your body as a car. When the car needs gas, it needs gas. When your body needs calories, it needs calories. It doesn't matter what the "calculated recommended calorie intake" is. Remember that our bodies are so complex and confusing. It's easier just to listen to it because you know yourself better than anyone or anything else does.
list everything you ate today,... including the cheese sticks .....
