Yesterday I only ate like 700 cals, and today, I just feel super hungry, even after eating breakfast, which was at 6:30 am.  Then about 2 hrs. later, boom! Hungry, and then I ate a banana and 4 crackers, and I'm still hungry!  Geeze!  Should I eat something low cal.  I feel like I have a hole in my stomach.  Why does it feel like my metabolism is speeding up?  I thought it would slow down since I only consumed 700 cal yesterday?

Help!!

You're hungry because you underate yesterday. Nothing to be suprised of.

That's why you should space your meals evenly, because if you undereat you'll be more likely to overeat at your next meal.

Seems like you didn't follow other people's advice from your last thread to eat more yesterday. You repeatedly ask how much you should eat and people take time to patiently tell you, and then you continue to undereat.

Do you know as a teenager you should be eating no less than 1500 calories a day, at the bare minimum??

You are hungry because you are starving yourself and we will not support that on this website.

Calorie Count's mission is to promote healthy and sustainable weight management.

Promotion of starvation diets or habits that exhibit signs of an eating disorder ("pro-ana", "pro-mia", etc.) is prohibited.

First off I would like to say thanks for posting the question.  You might want to increase your caloric intake to 1200. That is the bare minimum. I say this because if you eat less then that your body goes into starvation mode. Thus instead of losing weight, your body will hold onto the fat. It's a biological thing. Back in the times when humans were nomads, we didn't know when we would get our next meal. So, our body helps us to live longer by holding on to the fat. So, increase your caloric intake, add some exercise (at least 30 - 60 mins a day), and drink lots of water.

You also said that you feel hungry a lot. Once you increase to 1200 calories you should space out your meals. Eating 6-7 small meals a day is good for the body. Your body is constantly looking for fuel and if you give it healthy, portioned items then you will lose the weight. Here's one of my examples:

Breakfast: 3/4 cup Special K Blueberry with 1/2 cup milk

Snack 1: Grapes

Lunch: Wheat Pita Pizza with 2% mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, and turkey pepperoni

Snack 2: 100 calorie popcorn

Dinner: Spaghetti with tomato sauce

Snack 3: 1 cup watermelon

If you space it out, you won't feel as hungry because technically you will be eating all day. Just keep the portions small. Follow the serving size on the back of food packages. Etc, etc, etc, lol I have always wanted to say that.

You're hungry because you are starving yourself. 700 calories? Why did you do that? If you don't understand why you are hungry after eating only 700 calories in one day you need to educate yourself on proper nutrition. Then you say you ate breakfast a banana and 4 crackers? What was breakfast? You need to find out how many calories you should be eating a day based on your age, gender, weight, height and activity level and then eat that many calories as part of a balanced diet.

kensethgirl17, although your advice could help those trying to lose weight generally I need to tell you that  the OP is a teenager, she needs to eat 1500 calories MINIMUM as I stated above.

Spend less time making threads to get answers to questions you've previously asked, and spend more time eating.

Problem solved.Laughing

fidget84 - i wish I could report you because you were very rude.  And I am not asking the same question over again.  This time I was asking something totally diff.  read the last two questions..thanks

Kensethgirl17 - Thanks for you respectful, patient, caring reply.  Yeah, I kept the portions small today and it worked.  The only thing diff. about this questions is that I ate very little cal. yest., and wanted to know if feeling overly hungry today was bad or good.  But thanks for the advice, and some of those foods sound yummy.

littleshellys - Thanks, but I did that because I really wasn't feeling hungry and its told not to eat when not hungry.  I also went hiking and after that didn't feel hungry...also,  My breakfast was 1/2 cup of oatmeal.

Jewelsmcblah - Thank you, but I do believe your answer was a waste of a post.  And they are not all the same questions.

You need to eat more.  You will not successfully lose weight and maintain it eating so little.  1100 calories a day isn't enough for someone who is 16.  Restricting calories so excessively at your age can cause a multitude of problems.  Stunting your development, physically and mentally, is the big one.

The rude comments were because you didn't take the advice previously given to you.  The questions may not be identical, but this post is related to your previous post.  The answers are the same in both.  Eat more.

Hopefully this posts isn't as much of a waste as the previous.

700 calories is way too low.  A teen, who is still developing, should never eat less than 1500 calories.  That's probably why you're hungry--because your body is crying out for nutrition.  I'm not going to come down on you too hard because I just realized it's 8pm and I've had about 650 calories--but I'm going to go have dinner and hopefully end up around 1200-1400 calories by the time I call it a night).  If you're just not hungry, or if you were busy like I was today, I suggest having a drink with some calorie content.  I'm fond of G2, myself.  You've only got one body, treat it well.

Thanks.

Lady, you say 'thanks" but I worry if you really listen to the advice that you have been given.  You have multiple posts and threads in the past in which you consistently talk of undereating.  Yet, despite all of our advice, you continue to undereat.

Please be warned that this is a website dedicated to healthy eating and weight management.  What you are doing is unhealthy.  We are here for support, but we cannot support people who don't give any sign of wanting to do better or help themselves.  Please review the posting guidelines and know that continually posting of undereating with no sign of trying to improve will leave your posts subject to moderation and/or deletion.

Sincerely,

Michelle ~ volunteer moderator.

I don't see how some people can eat so little, still exercise and still claim to not be hungry.  I know it happens but it boggles my mind.  Regardless of whether you feel hungry or not your body needs energy.  If you don't feel in the mood to eat then do the smoothie/shake idea and drink the calories.  If your body doesn't receive the fuel required from let's say, food, it will break down your own body's tissues.  You need to replace the energy you use!

Lady, this is not meant to be mean to you or offensive in any way...it's the truth.

Eat protein when you are hungry (ie. low fat cheese, egg, turkey breast meat).

I find carbohydrates make me hungrier but protein helps with that hungry feeling.

Good luck with your weight loss.

tasha7399 - Yeah, I've been eating proteins more...although they do make me fuller.  Like I had 2 handfuls yest. because I eat a lot of low cal food, so it upped the cals.  Thanks.

prinzessin_naseimbuch - Its not that I eat little, its that I eat low cal...which is kind of bad.  Believe me, if you saw what I ate, you'd prob. think it was high cal. but its not.  And sometimes my bod. just doesn't feel hungry.  But believe me, I am listening to the advice, and taking cals in even when not hungry.

peaches0405 - I do take the advice give, thank you very much.  I hate it that people keep thinking I'm not.  I just have a lot of questions, which I thought this site was for.  You ask questions, and people should answer them.  Believe me, its a lot of info to take in in eating well.
