I am not hungry at all today, I ate some fiber one cereal and 1/2 of a light yogurt=110 cal.
I am going to eat a turkey sandwich for lunch, I think I will skip the lettuce (too much stuff) and put avacado on (for more cal.) but should I be worried if I do not get near 1200 cal today? By lunch time I usually have down 500-600 calories. I'm not sick, I kind of binged lastnight on pretzels (oops) but I usually wake up hungry when I binge but I didn't today. Should I force myself to eat more today?

Yes. Eat more. Try not to aim for under 1200.
You did a good choice by changing up the lettuce. Try adding some nuts and such to your day. High calorie, but very healthy.
What caused you to binge yesterday? I'm thinking your lack of eating today may cause you to binge again tomorrow.

Drink some calories if you have to.
Last night I was bored...I ate my dinner and watched the movie Bubble Boy and ate mindlessly. Thanks for the help, I just discovered a recipe for ceasar dressing..I'll make a ceasar salad tonight with chicken and cheese...not the FF kind either!
i controdict what the others say, if im honest.
If you overate yesterday then your body will be still using some of the calories from yesterday. One day of 600 to 900 calories will not hurt, and might even do your body some good. Resting the bowels. Eat ONLY when your hungry today, or your fill crappy.
When i over eat, say 2,000 instead of my normal 1,700. the next day its normal for me to only want 1,000, max 1,200 becasuse im still using the calories from yesterday.

Han- I always thought if you consumed more calories than your body needed, it was then stored as fat. I have never read anywhere that your body uses the excess calories the next day. Do you have a link to an article? I am interested in reading more about this.
do i think we're on a 24 hour clock... no...
I do think that we can eat 1,000 today and 1400 tomorrow... and 1,000 the day after to get to our 1,300/cals per day (average)? and have seen this technique suggested for dealing with special events like a special meal out on Sat.... cut back a bit fri & sun so you can indulge a bit more later...
so... what is the digestion process... when i eat, i can definitely feel energy being restored as the nutrients and food are converted to blood glucose and carried through our body. and if we eat more than we need, it is converted and stored as fat... so my guess that occurs each and every meal.
but, because we don't constantly eat... we don't have a constant supply of food in our tummy to digest and convert to the energy our body needs right now... so if the blood glucose is used up at a particular time, then our body starts taking the fat and converting it to be used by our cells for the energy they need to sustain life.
methinks that this is a process that is constantly happening... and that on average, at the end of the day... that if we eat less than we burn... like 500 cals less, day in and day out... eventually we lose the weight... on the flip side... if we eat more than we burn, day in and day out... then the extra stored by our body piles up and we gain weight...
seems to me that the body is either using the food in our system now... and if we have too much, it's stored as fat. if we don't have enough, then it grabs some fat to stay alive... and over the days and the weeks, we need to run a little deficit each day to keep the scales moving downwards...
hope this helps :)

Thank you Jules:) That makes more sense to me.:)
Also bear in mind it takes 24 to 72 hours for food to pass through your digestive system. It takes 6-8 hours just to get past your stomach and small intestines. I think I read somewhere that meat can sit in your intestines for days, where it, well, basically rots!
The whole time food is sitting in there, your intestines are busy pulling out the nutrients it needs. So I agree with united2gether on this... it makes perfect sense to me that if I eat 1400 calories today, I may still feel full the next morning and even into the afternoon depending on what I ate.
I aim for 1350 average per day, but some days it's just 1200 and other days it's higher. Recently I had an off-the-charts day at 2000 calories, most of it in one single meal (that was worth every bite!!). I didn't feel hungry again for a full day. But I did eat anyway... just not as much as I usually do.

24 to 72? I don't know.. I think it's more like 6-8 hours for food to be absorbed by your small intestine and then another day or so for it to pass through your large intestine.
Either way.. it takes a long time.... It's OKAY to go below 1200 once and a while, but if you are going to do that you should also plan days where you go above it.
Osh, you're doing fine! You recognized that you ate too many pretzels.. that's what counts!

there is absolulely no reason for a healthy person to eat when not hungry.
