Ok, it's 10:04 and I ate breakfast about 45 minutes ago. It was about a cup of cereal w/ milk, and a dannon light n' fit yogurt, adding up to about 200-250 calories. The thing is, I'm still hungry, and if I start hungry early in the day chances are I'll binge later. All there really is to snack on that is low cal are some shriveled up carrots. Any suggestions?

Believe it or not sometimes if after you eat and your still kinda hungry it may mean that your body could use some liquids, have yourself a tall glass of water it might be just the thing you need.
great idea, thanks!

agreed with jenny

drink a bottle of water or something
usually bodies just want more water.

If this is happening alot with that breakfast, it means you need more protein. Protein last longer in the body and gives you a feeling of feeling fuller. I think people should eat a larger breakfast and smaller lunch and dinners. A lot of people's life styles do not allow for that. So anywayz, eat more protein.
What kind of cereal? I mix fiber one with Kashi heart to heart and the fiber helps a lot. If you are eating a cereal that doesn't have at least 5g of fiber, you are going to end up with an insulin spike and you could end up hungrier than if you had not eaten.

When you say you feel "hungry" what do you mean?  Hunger pangs?  Or not feeling satiated?

I just wanted to highlight this because it is something that has ruined a lot of diet attempts for me. I always read about the importance of breakfast when you are dieting so I would make sure I ate it. The problem is I would eat the wrong breakfast (Fruity Pebbles ... mmmmm) and two hours later I would start shaking and feel like I had to eat and it was high fat, high sugar that I "thought" I needed.

I eventually convinced myself that eating breakfast was bad because it just made me hungrier sooner and ended up eating more and worse food.

When I discovered what you posted, I started eating breakfast again. I always eat high-fiber foods for breakfast ... 12-grain toast, oatmeal, Fiber One, etc. I no longer get that shaky miserable feeling a couple of hours after breakfast, I stay full longer and I fill up faster at lunch.

I hope anyone who has suffered from a similar problem sees your post and realizes it's not breakfast doing it, it's what they eat for breakfast.

Eat more protein.
try a protein bar for breakfast. i like luna bars when i dont have enough time to eat a reall breakfast. some have 10 grams of protein and for only 180 calories keeps you full

Eat something with protein (like half a banana and some peanut butter) as a snack around 2 hours after breakfast.

I consume 1000-1200 of my 1500 daily calories before 5pm.

I just know that if I eat more earlier, I'll have more time to burn it off during the day. :)

"nasuoni (like half a banana and some peanut butter)" thats not even close to protien its carbs and fatttttttt.

tuna with water, grilled chicken and steak r considered as protien source.
Maybe try hot cereal like oatmeal. I make oatmeal almost every morning unless i am going to school. I cook 1/2 cup old fashioned quaker oats in 1 cup water, add cinnamon and vanilla while cooking. Dump into bowl, add some splenda, 1/4 cup fiber one. I love the crunch. I drink that with a big water bottle and make sure to finish that before I am done ( usually accomplished by taking a swallow after every bite). I stay full for quite a bit and great now that the cold is here.

You say "fattttttttt" like it's the worst thing in the world. And for your information, http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/item/82825.h tml has 8 grams of protein in it for 2 tbsp.

Yes, bananas have tons of carbs, but they too have protein.

And honestly, who the hell wants to eat tuna, chicken, or steak that early in the morning?

what kind of cereal are you eating. try eating kashi's go lean crunch. it has lots of protien and fiber, it's filling, and tastes great with very vanilla silk soy milk...also, add a piece of fruit to your breakfast. apples are more filling because of the fiber.
