Hurrah!!! I have reached the 1/2 way point!!!
I started this journey on April 12th, 2007 at 245lbs (5-7ft tall, sedentary lifestyle and 25yrs old at the time.) I was busting out of my size 20W's.
Today, April 10th 2008, I sit at 211lbs (34lb loss) and am sitting comfortably in a new pair of size 16W jeans I just bought.
I have lost a total of 8 inches in my waist alone! This is my half way mark! My goal was 175lbs - I have 36lbs left to lose before I get there. I would like to break 200 by June 1st, that's only 12lbs to lose by 6/1/08.
I just wanted to share my journey thus far with you all!!!
WOOHOO, CONGRATS!!!
I get so happy when I read these type of posts.
So, do share how you did it.
cjeka - BRILLIANT!
AWESOME!
wowzer, keep it up ok!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
You should be very proud of yourself and this accomplishment. Continued success as you finish your journey!
Kathy
How have I accomplished this???
By eating no less than 1200 cals/day and no more than 1600 cals/day (with the occasional binge). I allow myself to have one maintenance day per week (usually the day with the binge...)
I exercise a minimum of 30 min/day.
And I use the tools, support and encouragement I've found on this site.
I have battled 3 plateaus already and what i ended up doing to break those is allowing myself a week of maintenance eating - with exercise and then resuming the 1400 cal/day average the following week.
As for any advise I may have for newcomers to the Calorie Count community... Use the tools and information this site contains! The first month after I found this site, I absorbed all the information this site contained and learned what 12 years of school did not teach me...
In my spare time (yea right) I'm working on writing something for pre-teens and teens to help them understand what I wish I had known when I was 13 - 17... What I wish my sister knew now to help her through her teenage years and help her lose her extra lbs.
I hope my success thus far helps encourage those of you who are just starting or stuck on a plateau... Good Luck!!!
awesome, it was great reading your post, especially since i just signed up here because i'm a 6ft male who weighs 312lbs and i need to loose about 100lbs, and i'm totally scared. i'd like to be 210. what kind of realistic time frame should i give myself, 2 years?
i'm proud of you!
Congratulations, cjeka! That's an amazing accomplishment!
And, once again, a successful story of upping the calorie amount when stuck on a plateau. It really does work!
I am really proud of you!! I really hope you attain your june 1st goal - just rev up your work outs and keep your diet clean and you will totally conquer your goal!! :) I am sure you already knew that though! :)
CONGRATULATIONS : )
Sounds like you're doing awesome, and doing a great job.
Best of luck with the remainig 36 lbs
Congrats! This is my first day...and that is exactly what I wanted to hear!
