I was so happy to see that Brummel & Brown yogurt blended spread was only 45 cals a tblsp.  Then I saw the hydrogenated soybean oil and my bubble burst.  I make these flax/blueberry/lemon muffins and love a schmeer on them.  Any suggestions that are low in cals but no yucky oils?

Also, is anyone else deathly afraid of hydrogenated oils?

Is it like yogurt spread? You can take any yogurt (even nonfat), but it in a coffee filter and have it drain overnight in your fridge until all the whey comes out.
Moop, that is such a great idea!  I'm trying it tonight.
I am so doing that!  I wonder if you can blend it with butter to cut the  calories.  I sometimes make my own spread with 1/2 butter and 1/2 olive oil but the cals are the same.  Thanks!
Smart balance no hydrogenated oil and LandoLakes has a butter with Canola.

You can buy a coconut oil that is semi solid at Walmart.  I bake with it and have been successfull in the texture and taste.

I also had to switch peanut butter.  We use skippy natural becuase of the hydrogenated oils cause my son to have asthma attacks.

I am completely against all hydrogenated oil. In fact I am terrified. What I hate most is when so called healthy and heart healthy foods contain hydrogenated oils. It scares me that people do not realize how bad the food they put into their bodies really is.
