I came across this thread today discussing hydroxycut as well as this one which will tell you a little more about it.
Here's what you need to know

Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon has filed a false advertising suit against the marketers of Hydroxycut, an epehdra-containing product claimed to be a safe and "clinically proven fat burner." The suit charges that the manufacturer, MuscleTech Research and Development Inc., of Mississauga, Ontario, had:
- Failed to disclose that the product contained ephedra or that ephredra posed serious health risks.
- Failed to disclose that its own research showed that Hydroxycut has no efficacy as compared to placebo with the possible exception of an appetite-suppressing effect.
- Manipulated "research" results by failing to disclose when subjects dropped out because of adverse effects, including one case in which hospital care was required.
- Used "before" and "after" photographs obtained with different lighting and poses to create the false impression that people who used the product were trimmer.
Okay Nathan29 here it goes...from my experience some people on this forum can be pretty hard on others with opinions about diet pills but not without good reason...there are some very valid reasons as to why a person should show caution when using these kind of products. Health concerns, money concerns and that all important 'false hope'. I would like you to know my opinion and mine only (it seems sometimes) about the use of diet pills. I eat a 1200-1400 calorie diet of healthy meats, vegetable and fruits. I work out 5x a week for about 50 minutes. I take hydroxycut hardcore, mulitvitamin and omega 3 chews. When I looked into using a product I only tried it after a month of stuctured eating and working out...not expecting a miracle pill. I then did some research into which ones I was interested in and I found this one. I am healthy with no health concerns...I started at the minimum dosage and have now graduated to 2 pills 2X daily. I have found myself with a bit more energy but mostly that extra something to get me throught the tough workouts. I cannot say whether or not it has sped up my weightloss or not...I think it is too early to say....I am not promoting it or discounting it either....my product does not contain ephedra and I would not take it if it did. This is only my opinion and I believe we all have a right to make up our own minds but that we have the right resources good or bad. If you wish to discuss this more use my link to contact me....good luck and be safe with your choices....
I'm on a plateau right now so I started taking them again this morning. I'll admit when I first started taking them a few months back I didn't "feel" a difference. But I've started them again just for kicks (I aven't even finished one bottle). I'll post again later with an update.
I just thought I would let you all in on this info:
Iovate, the manufacturer, is voluntarily recalling a whole bunch of their "Hydroxycut" products because the FDA found evidence of liver related problems in 23 cases, where people used these products.
I purchased some Hydroxycut MAX from GNC 2 weeks ago, and now it is being recalled......it is going right back there tomorrow!!
