Unfortunately, Hydroxycut became famous when it was able to use small amounts of Ephedrine in its formula. Five years ago, I was taking it and had great success. But I tried it again after the laws changed and it's definitely not the same thing.
I’ve once asked my personal fitness training and doctor and they both told me that it was ok
-if used for a short period of time (i.e. a few months... and not forever!)
-if I exercise during the day I take the pill (it’s not a magic pill – too often people just take the pill but don’t watch what they eat and don’t exercise)
So I decided to try hydroxycut hardcore for maybe 2 months (but cut the recommended dose in half) and got great SHORT term results.
When I quit taking the pill I started regaining weight.. which was really discouraging..
I’ve decided to never use this type of product again. Now, I’m losing weight just by exercising and eating well. It takes more time but it’s more a permanent loss.
Those pills have many side effects.. read them carefully before taking them..
The product WORKS "exactly as promised." and everyone should realize that it DOES! You also must realize the math. The average was 7% added loss. So if you average the normal healthy weight loss of 2 pounds per week, then the average loss will be an extra 0.14 pounds (or 1/6) per week. This is if the suppliment works as well as can be expected.
For most everyone here, this is not a measureable result and certainly does not justify the $60 price tag. Over the course of two months (0.14 pounds/week) there will be a total added loss of about 1.25 pounds for the life of the $60 bottle working as well as promised.
So it promises on the label that with a "premium" diet and "ideal" workout schedule, you WILL LOSE 1 & 1/4 pounds extra by paying all that money. (in my opinion) It's NOT WORTH IT, even though it DOES perform it's promise as stated.
I got to college at 175lbs and ballooned to 203 within the first 3 months even though I was active and playing rugby every day. I took hydroxycut in the spring and without any extreme changes in my diet (besides the fact that it made me not as hungry) or exercise I dropped about 15 pounds in the following 2 months. I can handle caffeine pretty well and was already basically an insomniac (college) so I didn't feel that it affected me too much besides it helped me get through some early morning classes. I was playing rugby and lifting all this past summer until I destroyed my ankle in a tournament in the middle of July. I wasn't able to work out for 3 months and won't be able to play sports or even run until this coming February. I was 182lbs at the time and about 11% body fat. 3 months of inactivity later I'm up to 206lbs and 20% body fat. I'm about to start hydroxycut again in hopes it has the same results. Good luck!
