i searched the internet trying to find an answer and couldn't...
does anyone know how much ice cream a regular-sized cake cone holds?
i'm trying to determine what a single serving, 1/2 cup, of soft-serve frozen yogurt would look like in a cake/wafer type cone.
would it only reach the rim? or how far over would it go?
thanks!
anyone???
maybe i will resort to stealing an empty cone from the dining hall and measuring it at home?
Soft Serve or Scooped? And most ice cream is valued calories wise by weight. I dont' know if that helps.
But to answer your question, it is fill the cake cone, and then about 2 swirls on top - not sloppy over the edge ones, but tight on top. That is about right.
impossible to say. depends how the person making it packed it.
thanks! that definitely helps.
i'm talking about soft-serve... the self-serve kind they have at cafeterias and buffets and such... i think low-fat frozen yogurt soft serve (hopefully it is what the sign says it is? i'm guessing it's probably this).
and i'm making it myself at the dining hall, and pack it tight... haha.
Your in luck, i work at an ice-cream shop
By cake cone do you mean waffle cone (like a biscuit) or cake cone as in the standard plain cones? I live in Australia so excuse my misunderstanding lol.
If you mean waffle cone Then 1/2 cup of soft serve ice-cream would fit completley in the cone with no swirls on top.
If you mean a plain standard cone, then like jesylyn072 said, about 2 smallish swirls on top (not hanging over the edge).
A plain standard cone is way better than a waffle cone as they are loaded with sugar. Also, if your ever just buying a one scoop ice-cream, a single scoop weighs 80-100g (depending on the person scooping).
I hope this helps =)
