I've found a way around it - seems to work. I actually prefer these to the  normal kind make with ice-cream and milk, too heavy and this way I can have my treat without a side of guilt.

No fat - low cal milk shake, all you need is a good blender.

1 1/2 cups skim milk AND

8 ice-cubes AND

1 tbsp Cocoa Powder OR

1 tbsp Instant Coffee OR

1/2 cup Frozen Berries

Set the blender to ice crush and leave it for a few minutes, decant and enjoy. Makes about 3-4 cups, depending on the blender (bubbles).

*Berries are sweet enough by themselves but I add a teaspoon of sugar to the coffee or cocoa, you could sub splenda if you were really trying to shave calories.

 

 

So what has anybody else come up with to substitute for the delicious bad stuff we all love so much?

Sounds yummy, I'm gonna try it tomorrow with Almond Breeze, & my stevia/cocca blend to make it even lower cal

 

I make protein "cake" all the time:

 

1 scoop chocolate protein

1/2 tsp baking powder

slowly add water until goey

microwave for 1 min

 

some people add things to it like peanut butter, syrup, or top it with milk, ice cream, cool whip, etc as it's pretty dry

My "recipe" is 4 oz almond breeze, 2 cups ice cubes, 2 Tbsp instant coffee, 2 Tbsp cocoa powder & a bowl full of water. I've been into peppermint extract lately. It's good with nonfat yogurt, cinnamon and lemon extract too!

I've been eating this recently:

1/2 Cup Serving of Greek Yogurt (However much you'd like)

1 TBSP Cocoa Powder
1 or 2 packets Truvia (Stevia)

Mix ingredients then place in cereal bowl formed into a nice shaped goop.  Freeze for between 45 60 minutes then take out of the freezer and stir goop unti there are no chunks.

 

You have chocolate frozen yogurt!  Wahoo!  With 1/2 Cup Fage greek yogurt this is only 75 calories.  :)

i have lost 35 pounds without giving up anything that i love i just eat less icecream just a half cup and am satisfied i also increased my exercise using the calorieplus activity log i burn about 2000 calories a day so i can consume around 1600 and still lose weight days i burn more i eat a little more days i burn less i eat less calories and it has worked for me. kathy - kauikat@yahoo.com

I make "ice cream" with decaf coffee... ice cubes... stevia & water & blend until smooth!~ ZERO CALORIES BABY!! 

This is not quite like ice cream, but kind of "shake"-like...last night I made vegan nog for the first time: a pound of light silken tofu, 2 cups of almond milk, 1/2 cup of splenda, plus vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves.  SO GOOD and only 300 cals for a whole PITCHER.

^Oh YUM!!! That sounds AWESOME!!!!!!! I LOVE eggnog!
