Ice cream!
Hey, I have a serious weekness for ice cream....I think I've heard people talking about different low fat/calorie ice cream. Any suggestions on brands? is laughing cow one? if it is where do you find it? I have never seen it.

skinny cow. Look in the freezer section near the weight watchers icecream. the fudge bars are awesome! I like edys whole fruit bars too. It depends on what kind of ice cream is your favorite flavor. I love, love, love Edy's Caramel delight. I try not to keep it in the house but its 1/2 fat and cals too I think.
I looove ice cream too. I love Hannaford's Light ice cream (cookies 'n creme= 120 calories per 1/2 cup) and Weight Watchers fudge bars 60 calories per bar :D! And their (Weight Watcher's) toffee bars= 110 :D
Yum! Thanks so much I'll be looking for those this week!
Healthy Choice has quite a few flavors to choose from at either 110 or 120 for half a cup. I love their mint chocolate chip or chocolate fudge chunk. Yum!
I just found some Neopolitan from Breyers ... some type of low-fat, low sugar, low carb stuff, which I haven't tried yet, but it's only 90 cal for half a cup!

Dreyer's Slow Churn! they mix it up w/ extra air so it SEEMS creamier than it is. 120/.5 cup. lotsa yummy flavors. OR try out Haagen Daz chocolate sorbet. it's fat free, but it tastes like dark chocolate ice cream.

i'm not sure how low fat they are, but i found some yummy non-dairy, lactose free 'ice cream' at the local co-op. it's made by celestrial seasonings (the tea company) and the flavors are like their tea flavors. i got the imperial peach. it's pretty good. the texture is a little different but not bad. 140 cal for a 1/4 cup, probably isn't that good, but i love ice cream and i'm finally down to enjoying a real serving size (1/2 cup or 1/4 cup) rather than a bowl-full. retraining the brain.
I have trouble with tub ice cream as I always think 1/2 cup is bigger than it really is..(Its TINY)..So I go for wal-mart ice cream cups..choc and vanilla..100 cals each..skinny cows are good Higher on the cals but again you cant make a mistake on portions...every one is raving on the philly stix at 10 cal (I havent tried them...) dream bars are good at 60 cal.(blue bunny)..Beware of "lite" ice cream ..it often isnt..lol..good luck..stay strong!
I am also hooked up on icecream, but instead of going at the super
market and buy it, I make it myself, with low fat yogurt, honey and
smashed fruits-and the mix goes to freezer. I admit that it takes a
little time to get accostumed to the taste (it is not as tasty as the
one made by professionals), but there are some real advantages: because
of the consistency, it takes maybe 30 minutes to eat a medium bowl, it
is a lot healthier than the one in the super market, because it
containts only natural products and it can be successful in replacing
the necessary fruit servings.

I get the Blue Bunny Fat-Free, No Sugar Added - I like the Toffee Caramel Crunch and the Brownie Sundae. As far as portion goes - I use one of my kids old plastic bowls, fill it up and count it as two servings (provided I have the calories left!)

JustBethy ... I actually measure out 1/2 a cup or a cup (depending on how many calories i've saved for it) and eat it directly from the measuring cup ... that way you get the exact serving size, AND it looks like you get more than you really do.
Someone here suggested philly swirls and I tried them. They are not exactly ice cream but are certainly a delightful treat. Have to say thanks to the person who shared; I cannot find the post but it is was a life saver for me with my sweet addiction. The sugar free ones are 10 cals each. But even the reg. ones that I have been eating are only 48.
The only thing I have in the freezer is the Healthy Choice Fudgsicle bars - they're about 90 cals each.... and filled with chocolaty goodness.....mmmmm
i finally made my first successful batch of sorbet - Lemon Buttermilke sorbet (w/ splenda). the first time i didn't freeze the bowl long enough and it was lemon soup. but this time it worked, and i can't wait to make more fruit sorbet. hubby's diabetic, so it's great being able to do it w/ splenda.
