idea
candigirl 21 (I think that's her username, correct me if I'm wrong) unintentionally gave me an idea from her bio that most of you have probably used already but here goes:
as you lose weight, put on the same pair of pants/jeans/etc every couple of weeks to see how much your body has changed, maybe even take a picture and post it if you want.
I remember seeing lots of magazine and TV ads that do this too, and you can really see a difference when there's so much empty space where their body used to be!
What do y'all think?

I do that too!
This may seem stupid, but I always wonder, where does it go? Like here is this mass, and when we lose weight it disappears.....evaporates.....
Why do you think you pee so much? Flush that fat away!
oh i should have done that -- but I altered all of my clothes down :(
Oh, my gosh budfriend... I have thought that very thing. I'm seriously like...'here's this roll of skin and then it's gone.' Freaky. Like if I think about the fact we're all just floating around on a big rock.
I like that idea and have been doing that even though I've only lost about 15 lbs so far, it still feels good to see how much that means in actual size. Sort of makes it more real.
Is everyone throwing most of their big clothes away? At what point do you start considering pitching the big duds? At every new size or two?

Unfortunately I am still in the same clothes even though I have lost 12 lbs. THis does seem like a great idea and I am going to do this also. I plan on throwing out my clothes or donating them to the salvation army as soon as they get too big. (Except for the one pair). I have dieted many times before and I have found that if I keep the clothes, I end up wearing them again. I am hoping that by getting rid of them, I will stay on track and keep losing until I reach my goal.
hahaha.. i have 1 pair of 24's that were tight when i started this.. i'm now comfortably in a 22 and some of my 20's fit.. so once in a while i try on the old ones and have a good laugh at it.. :) but beyond that pair i'm gonna get rid of alot of clothes! (haven't yet.. i've been to busy to go through my clothes)
Maybe all the fat we lose goes off to create entirely new people! That's a cool thought! But I really don't care where it went, as long as it doesn't come back to live on me!
yeah...you know the potato thing, right? where you get enough potatoes to represent the amount of weight you've lost physically.../my/ thought is that a pound of butter is exactly one pound of fat....so if I went out and got the 14 pounds I've lost in butter, and stacked it up, that would exactly represent how much mass I've lost in fat....scary thought, considering how big a pound of butter really is!
My mom has a theory that since matter cannot be created or destroyed
that when she loses weight, someone else in the world is gaining, and
vice versa! She says sometimes it makes her feel better about losing
weight if she knows someone else is getting it instead, LOL! she is
just kidding though of course, but it's funny to think about it.

I have always been one of those who when someone says they lost 5lbs, I
put my hand up and say I found it do you want it back. So now I know
that a lot has come from the USA and fallen on me in Australia lol ;))
diamroyal- so how much did all of that butter cost you? now how much did it cost to lose all of that weight!
ummm... there?s a chemical change in which fat molecules are broken down into other types of molecules, which releases energy (why you get hot when you exercise)... it?s more complex than that, but the matter in the molecules stays constant, it?s just changed into other types of molecules and excreted in various ways... I am such a nerd...
I have a closet full of size 7's... once I gained this weight I tried to put a pair on and was blasted away that I gained all this weight in a year!!!!! Then I was like, Damn I was small... I cant even get a leg in now! Oh I will definately save a pair of 12's as a sweet reminder of how easy it can be to gain it all back.
I didn't keep any of my biggest jeans, but I was wearing the same size as my husband. If fact, I gave quite a few of them to him for grubbies, so I guess I still do have them! If he loses any weight (he just might) I will be sure to save a pair of them for comparison. Right now I'm just excited about being able to fit into smaller sizes! Blows me away some days!
