IDEA- New, Integrated Tracking Meter
Maybe this exists and I just haven't found it yet. Please prove me wrong. If not.. I think it would be a great addition to the site.
So.. currently on the home page there is the Calorie meter (green) and the Burn Meter (blue). Calorie Meter tracks my calorie intake. (And the Eat Meter on the toolbar basically acts the same as this.) Burn Meter tracks my burned calorie output. Seemingly never the twain shall meet.
What about a meter that takes both into account? Right now if I up my calorie intake because I've exercised extra that day to allow for it it still looks like I went over my daily allotment. However what I'm proposing is a bar (either on the toolbar or on the homepage) that gives me extra allowance based on the calories I've burned for the day (including extra exercise, not just what activity level I'm set at). I know this would be really helpful for someone as visual as me. The max calorie number could either be pre-set to maintain a 500 cal deficit from what's been burned for the day, or maybe even it could be something that each person could adjust for themselves (for those who are trying for a greater deficit).
I realize this may sound a little confusing.. so here's a more practical example.
Right now a typical day might read 1760/1670 calories eaten, 2450 calories burned after exercise (when my usual base burn would've been 2170). So, I've burned about 300 calories, and therefore allowed myself to eat a little more than my daily allotment as well. However, at a quick glance, it still looks like I've just overeaten for the day.
What I'd love is a meter that would adjust with my exercise. So it would read 1760/1950 calories eaten (1950 based on a 500 cal deficit from the total burned for the day), 2450 calories burned.
Make sense? Is there a meter or a setting like that now and I just don't know about it.. or if not is it something the site moderators would consider adding?
Great idea. See http://caloriecount.about.com/forums/post/pag e/1/74054.html ...
