How does your ideal body look like?

Quote  |  Reply

Most of us on here have some sort of body we aspire for, so lets hear what your dream body looks like!

My dream body is a fit and slightly muscly body like Hannah Cornett (one, two) and Eva Mendes. I think their bodies are perfect, not too thin and they still look strong but feminine!

What about you?

Dream body.  Fully working complement of limbs and organs, supported by a skeleton and surrounded by skin   A lot of people aren't lucky enough to have even those bare minimums, are they?..... Let's get out of the shallows occasionally and count our blessings.

Oh come on, now you're being unfair. You say that as if someone "ows" overweight people a healthy body? We're all responsible for ourselves and no one can take that away from us.I am healthy because i take responsibility of myself and its not something that's just been handed over to me on a silver spoon. You're saying its shallow and selfish to have goals that you strive for unless you're overweight or obese - why is that?

Er, ok. Well, most of the people here are only here to "perfect" their bodies to what they want so... I think it was a valid question. Trivial maybe, but hey it's conversation.

My ideal body... Very slender, minimal muscle but toned. Probably too skinny for those who like curves, but it's what I prefer.

I said nothing of the kind.  You might want to read it again... more carefully this time.

I said we should be grateful for having a fully working body when many others can't even take that for granted.   It then follows that we should look after it rather than deliberately abuse it.... or downplay ourselves unecessarily because we don't happen to look like someone else.  The pursuit of a 'dream body' or lack of a 'dream body' is at the heart of a lot of self-esteem issues...

Pish posh, it's fun to fantasize.  Alessandra Ambrosio.

i wouldn't mind having scarlett johanson or megan fox's physique

It's "owes". And read her post again. There was no mention of weight.

Yup... that would be great... IF we didn't live in the real world. The real world happens to have a little more going on, such as you are evaluated on your physical characteristics when competing against others (which is always).

It would be great if we could all just "love ourselves" however we happen to be... and not care about comparing ourselves against those around us... but the world isn't like that. It is in every aspect of our lives from work to love to even the random person on the street. Why? Because there is actually a lot you can tell (generally) from the way a person looks. Having a nice body is just one of those (it shows a lot of dedication and personal responsibility... someone with a killer body obviously has their stuff in order ...where as a 600 pound woman probably is a mess in a lot more aspects of her life).

Shallow? No... simply realistic... and even if not for the above reasons, there is also the common personal growth and improvement for yourself. Yea it's sad that some people are in unfortunate sittuations, but they are by far the minority...and the world takes special notice of those sittuations and adjusts the way they look at them...but for the rest of us, life goes on in the real world and we need to function in it.....

I'm with restless_girl that is what I prefer as well THIN small toned muscles and I add tall.

Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Giselle!
I like Jessica Stroup from the new 90210 too.

Ideally, Marisa Miller. She just looks healthy. And ripped. But I like my own body just fine when I treat it they way I should =)

megan fox for body, but realistically i'll just have to make my own body as toned and firm as it can be....i'm 5ft 2 with AA boobs; never really guna look like megan fox! i think this is what GIJane meant; that you can only be the best you can be physically,.... and you can never morph into someone else, no matter how much you diet or exercise. if you try you'l be miserable.

It may have sounded a bit didantic but she is dead on.

At the risk of sounding like a grandma, so many body shapes and sizes look ideal to me, when combined with a good posture and confident, positive attitude. And just like grateful_deadhead13, I too am very happy with my own body when I treat it properly. If I had to choose a celebrity, I`d probably go for a lean, curvacious one, such as (but not necessarily) Jessica Biel.

Just to add: It`s not that hard to look lean when you`re just skin and bones, but that doesn`t make you healthy or beautiful. Don`t get me wrong, I don`t mind naturally skinny ladies, in fact I find that some have a certain unique grace. However, most of the ones I know personally often look emaciated when wearing revealing clothes, and almost always act tired and hold back from engaging in any fun but physically demanding activity. That`s no way to spend your life in general, and your youth in particular.

i'm with jane; i'm tremendously grateful that all my limbs and most of my organs are intact and fully functional.

but what's funny to me is that i was never happy with my body when i was younger.  today, my body (aside from a few more scars and wrinkles) is almost the same as it was at 25, and i'm completely in love with my external self :)  my "dream body" is so close to the one that i have, there's really no advantage to fretting over the difference.

I read in Vogue or Vanity Fair that Johanson doesn't work out and eats junk food on set all the time. Obviousy, she doesn't overdo it on calories, but I thought that was interesting. If you look at her though, she's not very toned, but curvy...

"Always be a first-rate bersion of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else."  Judy Garland  (June issue of Woman's Day Magazine).

My dream body would be beyonce, she has a nice small waist, but a lovely curvacious bum and thighs to die for... still dreaming, lol.  Realisticaly i'd be happy with being able to look down at my breasts and not see my tummy poking out further than them!!!  Most of us have people we aspire to when it comes to body image and there is nothing wrong with that, lets face it, none of us would be on this site otherwise, those who are bigger OR maintaining... we wouldn't know what was seen as normal otherwise and we'd all be happy the way we were.  This is the real world and i agree that we should all be grateful for being reasonably healthy and breathing as there are always others worse off, but that aside, we have to live with ourselves and what effects our lives and a little fantasy and an idea of what to strive for is good and healthy physically and mentally!

lol @ beyonce as dream body.

Aww, what's wrong with beyonce's body??

Miranda Kerr: here, here or there. A little more muscle would be good but hey, if I were here I wouldn't be complaining!

Unlikely with my genetics, but we're all allowed to dream. And yes, in real life, I am pretty pleased to have a body that goes.
