I am recovering from anorexia and currently at 109-110lbs at 5ft 7''. At my lowest weight i was 98lbs with a bmi of 15.3 (how the hell did i  get there??!) What should i be aiming for weight wise. 120lbs is my guess but should it be lower/higher?

you want a bmi of 20, so whatever weight that is for your height.

you want to be healthy, but it depends on your frame. If you have a small frame, then your bmi will be on the lower side of healthy. If you have a larger frame, then it should be larger.

Kudos to you for taking steps to get healthy!

My mom was a runway model in New York during the early 60's around the height of the Kennedy administration and Jacki - O fashion craze.  She carried a BMI of 22.  for a woman of your height, that would put you at 140 to 145.

A healthy weight range falls within a BMI of 18.5 to just under 25.  That would put you between a 120 and 159 pound range.  However, this is for the average person.  If you exercise and and have a low body fat percentage, these numbers may become meaningless.

If I could encourage you, ignore your scale and measure your body fat.  Some high tech scales have this function, or this can be done with a cheap $20 set of body calipers.  A healthy body fat percentage for females should be between 20% and 30% but not lower than 15%.  Believe it or not, your body actually needs fat to make hormones and when it doesn't have that's when things get messed up.

Blessings, I hope this helps and gives nutrition for thought!

BUTTERFLY-believe me, when ppl, like myself as well, are recovering from an ED, its better to shoot for a bmi of 20, this is healthier, ask your Nut if youd like.

good luck!
