I am going to a movie with my kids today and I have a really hard time avoiding a treat or two. I usually eat the whole treat before the movie even starts! Any ideas. The kids have a hard time with "no treats" too.

Don't buy them : ) Suck it up and say 'I can't eat them. So I won't." If that doesn't work, think about the ridiculous amount of money you pay for processed sugar in a box. Your body doesn't need that garbage, your brain just wants it because its reminded of the good feeling you get when you eat it.
put a few sugar free treats in your pocket. 100 cal fun size treats in your pockets

I think a letter to your movie house establishment, letting them know that you'd appreciate alternatives to the JUNK foods would help..

Have fun with your kids...even if you eat something that is not the best... just count them in to your calories for the day!!

Eat before you go. We went to dinner and a movie last night. We did not eat anything durning the movie just held hands...woo woo..it was nicer that having a bag of greasy popcorn and a soda in my hand.

What you can do with your kids is ask them if they would like a nice homemade pizza before leaving. Make it special for them as well as for yourself. Then tell them when you get back from the movie that you will make them some jello treats( have jello premade). Have toppers for their jello cups. Different fruits, nuts, whipped cream even candy sprinkles on top. Make yourself one too because sugar free jello is soooo low in calories. That will be a fun treat for them because they can make them themselves. It will be a bonding time also with your kids....have a fun day!
Half of the reason why I watch movies is because of food! I think I get anxious sitting down for so long and I like having something to chew. Make popcorn, but just flavor it with salt or nonfat margarine
Mine grew up understanding that the treat is the movie. I have a hard time with the american culture of spoiling their children with food. My husband believed you cant see a movie withoit popcorn and soda. Bad for health not to mention it will double the price of the outing. We finally reached a compromise. We go to Chick Fil A for lunch first then go see a movie. Its alot cheaper and the kids have just had a healthy lunch and dont mind not getting outragously priced food there.
