Hi!

It is absolutely boiling here in Spain right now and I am craving something nice and cold to drink, but i've got no coke, no juice, no lemons, no oranges, no nothin! (it's a holiday so I cant go out for it either!). Any ideas on what I can have??

Thanks!

What I really love is an egg nog meets milkshake type of thing:

In cup, place an egg yolk, one teaspoon of brown sugar, and beat with a mixer until fluffy and creamy (a few minutes), then stir in ice cold milk until it reaches your desired consistency (I usually fill the cup all the way to the top). You can add a pinch of vanilla or cinnamon for extra flavour. This is also delicious served warm or hot during winter. :)

At the same latitude in the USA I would be drinking iced tea unsweet.

But today its cold and rainy so I'm drinking coffee instead.

Those are really nice ideas! I'm going to make that milkshake thing right now and tell you how it went!!

By the way, I'm sorry for sounding ignorant, but how would you make iced tea? :) thank you

Judging from your weather, you could probably make sun tea.  Put a couple bags (or a tea ball full of a leaf you like) in a liter of water and leave it out in the sun for a few hours.  Then serve over ice.  Not a lot to it.

I Live in Spain and am frequently too hot for words nothing hits the spot for me better than a lovely ice cold glass of water :o) Sorry but even when I wasn't dietign this did it for me ;O)

Do you have a cucumber? I love a slice of cucumber in my water :)

Cucumber and mint water! place some sliced cucumber and chopped mint in a blender and add sugar and water to it and blend. Make sure to strain before serving over ice!

That sounds so good!

^^

It's delicious!! you can adjust the amount of mint so that you get only a hint of mint thus allowing the cucumber to be the center attraction.. =) Enjoy!
