Any ideas on what would be good with or in wheat totillas?
i often make a veggie wrap for lunch. i use black bean dip and hummus, then add spinach, peppers, and whatever else i feel like.
i also use the tortilla to make something similar to pizza...just top it with fresh veggies, sprinkle part-skim mozzarella cheese on top and pop it in the oven for a bit.
if you have a G Foreman grill you can do all kinds of stuff. Put brown some ground beef/turkey/ or smart ground (veggie replacement) and add some black beans, salsa, onion, garlic, favorite lowfat cheese and top with another tortilla add em to the grill until firm, it makes a very nice quesadilla.
Sometimes I do the same thing with my fav pizza toppings making a handheld low cal pizza snack...
I just made myself a nice chicken wrap with 1 oz shredded fat free cheddar and chipotle salsa and 6.5 oz of chicken breast cut up
314 calories and I am full! Remember that you can also use them for burritos and they hold up very well with cutting into strips and using them for tortilla soup instead of frying(BAD CAL) stickthem in the oven or a toaster oven until crispy! also you can cut them in to pieces and roll cheese and chicken for individual little snacks. The pizza thing is also really good although I suggest that you prebake the tortilla a little bit as it is just a little bit better for all the water in ingredients! Have fun and there are also low carb tortillas called flatouts....look them up....they are big and only 90 calories and very tasty!

Quesadillas - low fat cheese, diced vegetables, add salsa, warm in oven or skillet until cheese melts
Tacos - fold in half, fill with ground beef, turkey or meat substitute. Top off with lettuce, tomatoes, low fat cheddar cheese and salsa.

Sandwich Roll Ups - any combination of lunch meat, meat alternative, turkey, salmon, rice or tofu. Top with letuuce, cheese, tomatoes, add any of your favorite condiment sauce. Roll up, add a bit of cream cheese at the top to hold or use toothpicks.
I just read in cosmo today a good recipe for them:
cut tortilla into 6-8 triangle shaped peices. Put on baking sheet. Bake on 350 for a few minutes, until crisp. Use these, instead of regular chips to eat with your favorite or homeade salsa!
They would also be good toasted whole and used to make a tostade or to eat with homemade healthy chili!
Breakfast wrap: Laughing Cow light cheese spread on tortilla, with egg whites scrambled, and "carmelized" onions (browned with Pam) or roasted red peppers or sundried tomatos, or thin slice of 99% fat free ham, or salsa, or whatever strikes your fancy.
Spinach Salad wrap: put down the Laughing Cow light cheese or substitute light mayo, layer baby spinach leaves (lots of em), top with sundried tomatos, red onions, and alfalfa sprouts. Pop it in the foreman grill to get the outside crisp, enjoy! Add your favorite protein source to make it even more awesome.
Pizza: spread with spaghetti sauce, add whatever veggies you like, sprinkle with cheese and bake.
Here's a menu for a wrap place, you can copy any of their recipes: http://www.rolypoly.com/menu/downloads/FaxMen uBlank_2007.pdf
Mmmm...Roly Poly.
I usually eat that with a fruit for breakfast. Sometimes I'll put banana slices on it, sprinkle with cinnamon, and microwave that whole thing for about a minute.
If you want a REAL meal, get some 93% lean ground beef, brown it with some taco seasoning. make a burrito with some guacamole and lite sour cream, salsa and 1oz of mexican cheese.
I think it comes in under 400 cal, but I guarantee you won't be hungry.
