Ideas for lunches to take to work - sandwich alternatives
Hi,
Does anyone have any good ideas for lunches? I currently am making sandwiches (normally chicken, lean ham or brie and apple) but finding that the bread is a huge amount of my daily calories. I normally eat 3 slices of white, about 210 just for the bread! My total lunch (bread, flora spread, lettuce, ham/chicken, banana) will come to about 400 calories. I want to cut this down to between 200 - 300 calories, but I work long hours so don't really want to eat any less food!
What do other people bring to work for lunch? I have no time in the mornings so needs to be something I can prepare the night before. I was thinking maybe some kind of cous cous salad? I don't want the carbs causing the same calorie problem as bread.
Any ideas?

You could easily pack these lunches:
- Whole wheat crackers + cheese + yves veggie pepperoni slices
- Campbell's Soup at hand
- Sticky Rice (assuming you have a microwave) ... aka chinese rice dumplings
- Cha Siu Bao (steamed bbq pork buns)
- Pre-cut vegetables + light dressing
- 1 medium banana + mini packs of peanut butter

- Individual oatmeal packets
- Apples, Oranges, Pears... FRUIT!!!
- Homemade pasta salads w/ low fat mayo + veggies
- Naan + dhal or other indian curries
- Steamed white rice with veggies and low sodium soy sauce
- Grass Jelly + a sprinkling of sugar
- Dry Cereal + milk (I personally love cereal for lunch)
- Sushi
- Couscous-bean salad
- Chicken Fajitas
- Pitas + Hummus
- Canned chili or stews
- Yves meatless ground round (mexican style) + lettuce = lettuce wraps :)
That's all I can think of right now... but hope some of them sound tasty to ya!
Is my sodium intake too low?
