I'll be 43 this June anyone around the same age want to join my weight loss quest?
Greetings!
I am hoping that this site I stumbled on will help me out. I have been on a diet or fighting with food my entire life. About 8 years ago I lost about 100 pounds, my lowest weight was 204 then I had my first child at 40. Now I am 220 and he'll be three this June. The only good news is that I do not weight 300 + pounds anymore having said that - No excuses, my food addiction problem has been out of control now since his birth. I try - and try - and try - and still nothing seems to be working. Maybe I can find a friend here who will help give me the strength I need to be healthy. I need to stay alive for my family.

Hi again!
I'll start off. Looks like the vacation pounds are coming off, which is good :)

Hello, sorry I am late in checking in. I started a new asthma med and it required that I adjust my schedule to fit in a 3 hour sit at the Dr's office! A real pain in the rear but I had the chance to try this med (insurance had a fit 18 months ago when I tried to get on it, but they were OK with it this time, go figure...). Well as you can imagine that just messed up the end of the week for me. Good news is that I did not have an allergic reaction to it, bad news is that it is a little too early to tell if it is doing me any good. This will be a crazy week, we have the Johnny Appleseed Festival this weekend and there are probably a 100 thousandwho will be coming to town for it. The school I help at has a booth of homemade Carmel sauce and the Lions Club that my parents have been in forever makes Indian Bread. Lots of bad food coming up here, I am hoping that the food prep this week will keep me so busy that I will not be interested in nibbling on it all. I simply must go to the Carmel Corn booth though, it is the one thing that I eat every year there! Well I need to let you know my weigh in (I did remember to weigh Friday!):
cynthb - Cynthia - 175.4 (down 1.6)
omagraf - Sandy 154.6 (same, but not up!)
OK this is the second time I have typed this , doing something funky I think. I go on vacation Thursday. I will have a new beginning next Tuesday. My plan is to try to lose or at least stay the same again for this week, but I will not be able to weigh in. Anyway I did weigh in on Friday and thought I posted it. Have a great week PAT

Sorry I haven't been around. I can't seem to find a minute for myself. Since school started and the sports have started up, my exercise time has gone down the drain. I'm happy that I'm maintaining, if I can maintainfor the next few weeks when things calm down I'll be happy.
I was going to try to get out to the gym today at lunch, but since I work in the financial industry...I figure its not a good time to be away from the desk!
Hope you all have a great week!

Missykris1 the only thing you have missed recently is the fact that we all moaned about September being crazy for us, guess you can join us in that moan. I can sympathize with the work thing, I am in Petroleum...enough said... My sister is a Vice President at her bank in Texas, I told her that they got hit physically and financially this month! A double whammy. Hope everyone is good, we all look good right now we are either losing or holding steady. If I can't go down I am usually happy to just not gain.
Have a good day everyone, I am thinking of you!
Sandy
P.S. if you haven't noticed I am feeling REALLY perky, the new drugs seem to be helping me to get back my energy level. Evidently low lung functions and poor oxygen levels were more of my fatigue problems than I suspected (I thought I was just getting older).
Gm all, hope all is going well. I will be gone until Tuesday and will not be able to weigh in on Friday. But I will do my best while on vacation to at least stay the same. Omagraf, I have a question for you what did you mean by,
" if you haven't noticed I am feeling REALLY perky, the new drugs seem to be helping me to get back my energy level. Evidently low lung functions and poor oxygen levels were more of my fatigue problems than I suspected (I thought I was just getting older) "
I am 47 always fatigue and definitely low energy level. Just wondering if you knew something that perhaps will help.I do have high BP and diabetes, on pills for both. Thank you.. Everyone have a great week.. PAT
Pat, my trouble (evidently) has been my asthma. You should definitely see your Dr about you fatigue. They should run some blood work to check on your organ functions. Fatigue can be related to just about anything going on in your body, I had heard this from friends but I am a believer now. I know several people who had their chronic fatigue checked into and one had to go on vitamin B shots, one had trouble with their glandular functions, one had big fluctuations in her blood pressure, all were able to get their energy back when the problems were treated. Don't assume that it is old age (I just turned 48), it could be something that can improve.
Can you tell I am perkier, I have gotten chatty now! Any way, I have always been the type to not sit still and I have lost that over the past few years. I am happy to report that I am current running all over the place and quite happy about it! The best part is that I am sleeping better at night again.
But I have forgotten why I was here!
Friday weigh in:
Omagraf - Sandy -154.3 (down, barely but down so I'll take it.)
Have a good weekend (or trip) everyone. I'll be checking back tomorrow to read your weigh ins! Good luck!
Definitely get the fatigue checked out Pat! A lot of conditions take energy away from you, and you want to find out as early as possible so it can be fixed as easily as possible.
I am very glad to hear you're feeling better Sandy. You really sound a lot more cheerful.
I have a pig roast to go to at a co-worker's place tomorrow. I think it'll be relatively easy to be good there, since I'm not a huge fan of pork, but it'll be fun.

cynthb - Cynthia - 174.4 (down 1)
Have a great weekend everyone!
Funny, I had just talked to my dr this month about always feeling tired. We did blood work and everything came back fine - just slightly anemic. (which I usually am) I know that is part of my problem and the other is I don't sleep good. I'm sure between the two and my hectic life style that is the reason for me to be so tired. I do feel better when I exercise - but lately no time for that! I'm hoping next week to at least get to the gym at lunch time. Hopefully things will be settling down at work!
Omagraf - Sandy -154.3 (down, barely but down so I'll take it.)
cynthb - Cynthia - 174.4 (down 1)
MissyKris -Kristine - 170.5 (down .5) -think this loss is due to pure stress!
GM all! Thank you all. I have to go soon to have blood work done, will talk to the doc about how tired I have been. I did walk on the scale lol this am but I was fully dressed with shoes so I had gained,(queen of excuses lol) but I will really check it out on Friday. My days away were relaxing, I did over eat but was active. I hope it will at least be a wash this week and can start fresh next week. Hope everyone has a great week.
Hi everyone! I worked out once this week, but was pretty good food-wise, so there wasn't much change. Hope everyone is having a good week and is looking forward to the weekend! We have a bbq on Saturday night at a friend's place, which should be fun, and I'll do my best to moderate myself.
This week I'm up a bit but not too bad considering I only ran on Monday.
cynthb - Cynthia - 174.8 (up 0.4)
No change here, but that is ok. I was not a "good" girl this week so if I didn't gain I am doing good I guess. Making apple pie tonight (grandson requested) so I may pig put a little myself. Hope everyone else has a decent weigh in!
cynthb - Cynthia - 174.8 (up 0.4)
omagraf - Sandy - 154.3 (Same)
I was on vacation and went out everynight. I gained 3 lb. Hopefully a new start Monday... I have plans this weekend and will have a hard time sticking to the diet. I really need a boost to get with the program. I keep saying Monday, Monday, tomorrow... But Monday I will, that is the plan I plan to stick to it. Have a great week ...

Hi all. I'm so glad its Friday - another stressful week under the belt. Its supposed to rain here all weekend and I'm happy about it. It would be nice to have some time to stay home and get things done in the house. I haven't had a second to exercise but I am happy that despite the fact that I have barely exercised since I got back from vacaion in August, I have been able to maintain my weight. It would have been nice to be out of the 170's like I had hoped by the end of Sept, but I am still proud of myself for not letting the stress and craziness of my life send me back up. Hopefully things will calm down in Oct. I WILL be under 170 by Halloween!!!!!
Hope you all have a great weekend,
Kristine

MissyKris - Kristine 179.5 170.5 (same) thats a number I don't want to ever see again!
Kristine, when I read your comments about being proud of yourself yet hoping to get out of the 170's it was just like I feel. I have gotten out of the 170's, and now want out of the 150's. I am proud that I haven't fallen "off the wagon" this past year and have not let any weight sneak back on me. I want to get out of the 150's by Halloween but I guess I have been doing something right at this point. I hope we can both get there before the end of October, if not I will still be glad if I don't gain.
The holidays are just around the corner now and I do not want to put weight back on. We are doing some fall chores around the house this week and last so I am hoping that I will have lost maybe a pound when I weigh in tomorrow. It is an ambitious goal, but I feel like I have been really doing well this week. I hope that everyone else is having a good week! See you all tomorrow.
I'm back...Happy Friday!
Omagraf - Sandy 153.8 (down .5)

Wow...I haven't been on this site or forum for months. Want to guess why I am back? Hmmm....weight creeping up and summer is over. Time to get serious again. Can someone remind me what day weigh in is. I am glad to see some of the same people are still here and working toward their goals. It motivates me![]()
