I'll be 43 this June anyone around the same age want to join my weight loss quest?
Greetings!
I am hoping that this site I stumbled on will help me out. I have been on a diet or fighting with food my entire life. About 8 years ago I lost about 100 pounds, my lowest weight was 204 then I had my first child at 40. Now I am 220 and he'll be three this June. The only good news is that I do not weight 300 + pounds anymore having said that - No excuses, my food addiction problem has been out of control now since his birth. I try - and try - and try - and still nothing seems to be working. Maybe I can find a friend here who will help give me the strength I need to be healthy. I need to stay alive for my family.

Quiet week; should be a quiet weekend. Hope everyone had a good week, and I hope you all have awesome weekends!
Sandy - 152 same....well at least I am not gaining!
Cynthia - 181 - down 0.4
Kathryn ~ 198.5 (Down 3)
Hey guys…good Friday to everyone. Things have been okay on my side. I haven’t been in a real good mood lately. Not sure what it is….nothing serious, just letting the everyday things play on me I suppose. Been busy and haven’t had much time to be outside. Also it has been raining all week, so no mountain biking. I am still in a lot of pain in my wrist and am seeing a hand specialist next week for an MRI.
On a brighter note, I can wear a size 32 pants now. I wore a 32 in 10th grade in high school. Still can’t believe that I went from a 42 to a 32. I am planning some current pics next week if I can ever find the time.

Terry between the pain and not being able to be outside...no wonder you've been in a bad mood! Hopefully, the hand specialist will be able to help with the pain, and you'll be able to get out and ride your bike...bet your mood will improve immensely.
Congrats to both of you! Terry, wearing a 32 pant is fantastic. Hopefully that will improve your mood; I know how frustrating it is being stuck working inside when you'd rather be outside.
And Kathryn, congrats on getting below 200! I know I felt really good when I hit that milestone.
Wow, the group is doing great right now! Everyone is losing and did you notice that no one has been complaining of missing their old lifestyle? Lots of thumbs up here!
Terry, I know you have had some aches & pains and I believe you may have done what I call the sick soup diet. I lost weight when I didn't feel good, even though I was not out there exercising.
Kathryn, I hope that you are still bouncing around today after that weigh in! Great news, I am so excited for you.
Cynthia, you have been on a losing streak here as well.
I hope to join you all at next weeks weight in! We had a community fitness run/walk Saturday and I did manage to participate. It was a great day for it, still a little stiff but nothing to really complain about. I only participated as a "walk on" but next year I think I may pay and let them time me, finishing is much more important than time.
Have a good week all, I hope that we all have a good weigh in ahead of us on friday!
Hey guys…it is Friday again!
Nothing new on the weight side for me. Considering I am maintaining, I suppose that is a good thing. I was still having issues with my wrist and saw a hand specialist yesterday. The diagnosis is a TFCC tear. Obviously it did not show on the original ER xray as it isn’t a bone issue. I have an MRI on Thursday to get a better idea of the damage and to confirm the diagnosis. He said it will probably require either a hard cast for a couple of months or minor surgery. There is a chance that it can be treated with a brace, injections, etc, but not likely. He said it would be painful to continue riding (no kidding?), but it shouldn’t do more damage. That said, I am going to try to push back treatment until like mid-December as it will be too cold to be doing any serious riding.
Terry – 186 – no change
Happy Friday to everyone!
Good to hear Terry that riding shouldn't damage it further, I know how much you enjoy that.
This week I've been feeling a little bloated, so I'm not surprised to be up a bit. I had a good long run at the decreases, though, and one week isn't going to set me back much in the grand scheme of things. I should be back to normal next week. I've been working out on the elliptical because of rain this week. It's been cold and rainy, and last night there was a frost warning, brrr!
Terry – 186 – no change
Cynthia - 182.6 - up 1.6
Wow…not much action over the last couple of weeks. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying life!
I had my MRI yesterday on my wrist. I am not sure there is anything worse than being cramped in an MRI machine for 45 mins. I see the doc next week to go over the results and decide on a treatment.
Weight it is the same. I am really happy at my current weight, so all is well.

Yes it has been quiet here Terry. Been personally busy with stupid stuff but busy! Glad the Dr has a plan for your wrist, it is always good when there is a plan to return to normal. I suppose at our age we should just expect parts of our bodies to start causing us grief.
I have been lacking on the exercise lately, lots of battles with the lungs again. Maybe a good freeze will help, not that I am looking forward to that though. I am going to get out a little more this month, getting ready to take toddlers to visit THE Mouse next month (and that takes some endurance conditioning)!

It has been quiet recently. I also hope everyone's OK. I didn't exercise this week because of a cold; I also missed a day and a half of work. I'm pretty much over it at this point though. It's the long weekend this weekend :) We're going to a friend's cottage for a weekend of board games and card games (no tv there), and I can't wait. The only thing is it's hunting season up there, which can be a bit scary with the occasional gun going off in the distance.
Sandy I hope your lungs get better. The fall often has a lot of mold with the rain and dead leaves, which can trigger some people. Sounds like you'll have fun with the grandkids though! Terry I hope your MRI went well and they can do something for your wrist.

Cynthia - 178.4 (down 4.2! must be the cold)
Hey Sandy....we are planning a visit down to visit Mickey in early December. I love it down there. I was an art major in college the first time, so I have a thing for old animation.
Cynthia...congrats on the 170s!
Hi there,
This is my first attempt to join a community, wish me luck!
I have started on CC on February the 18th 2009. Back there I was 100kg or 220.45lbs. Sick of being overweight and not able to find a light at the end of the tunnel CC was way too easy? good? to be true or believe.
Not very fond of take away nor ready meals, the evil to kill was the fattening fat and sugar on chocolates, biscuits, ice-cream, cakes ... pretty much everything good I have always enjoyed to cook and eat. Have always had good eating habits as well as the bad ones, so I had to get rid of the bad ones and find a balance.
So far so good, with all the struggles, ups and downs as everyone I am growing strong ... and not on the sides!
Have turned 41 last August 1,70m or almost 6ft, I weight now 78kg or 171.95lbs. Have I lost 48.49lbs or just about 22kg??? Yes I did!
CC says I still have a long way to go and it's true. My calorie coach puts me down everyday, but I don't give up.
Someway, somehow I will get there, or close, it will be good enough for me.
Cheers everyone!
simone
Hey Simone...welcome to the group. It is great that you have lost so much already.
Tell us more about you...where are you from, what is your goal weight, etc?
Terry
Hi there!
I am originally from Brazil (Sao Paulo), but I live in Europe for about 9 years. Since 2004 home is England, London.
The CC says my goal weight is 65kg which I find impossible to reach.
My personal ideal goal would be just under 70kg I think.
So, I just have 10kg to go, right ? Hard work!
Thanks for your reply and interest.
Have a good weight loss day!

Hi Simone, welcome to the group! This is a relatively quiet group, but we do chat and we weigh in on Fridays.
Congrats on coming so far already!
Hey gang…Hope you all had a fantastic week and are super motivated.
Let’s see…first, I got my MRI results back. They found a fracture of my Ulna. A little late to do anything as it has almost healed. He said they would have put it in a cast to limit mobility had it shown up in the xray. At this point, just take it easy and give it a couple of weeks.
My weight is the same, which is a good thing. I “think” I have found a maintenance plan that works for me. Basically I just weigh myself every morning. Ultimately my goal is to stay between 185 and 189. Since I am sitting at 186 or lower, I just go about my regular routine of 2700-2900 cals and riding whenever possible. If my weight goes 187 or higher, then I cut back a bit on the cals and try to get in a little more exercise. Probably not a perfect plan, but it works for me.
Just curious, does anyone watch the Biggest Loser? I had never seen the show until this year. I am not sure what to think. I mean there seems to be a lot of drama and it really irritates me when they go through and blame events, people, etc for their weight gain. I mean obviously outside influences affect us, but ultimately I got up to 282 be sitting on my butt and eating whatever I wanted. Yeah, I had “reasons”, but wasn’t it my fault? Oh well…still a good show and full of informative information

Wow! I completely forgot to post last week. Let's see...first I lost three pounds, then I gained them back the next week. Last week, they were gone again; and this week, I lost 1/2 lb. What a roller coaster! Hopefully, things will level out again...I think I'm back on track.
Simone, welcome to the group!

It's Friday again; hope everyone had a great week!
Last weekend was our Thanksgiving north of the border, and I think I did pretty well in terms of limiting myself. I also was down over 4 the week before, so I'm not surprised to see a bit of a rebound, so you're not the only one doing a bit of a roller coaster Kathryn. It's been a good week for me. I'm working on the elliptical now, and I'm pretty sure it'll be spring before I'll run outside again. I've started doing some interval work instead of just doing steady state, and it kicks up my pulse more than the steady state work.

Sandy - 150 - wow I lost something!
Had to lead with that because I have hovered at this point for so long now. Whatever I am doing right I hope to keep up with.
Glad everyone is doing good right now! I am getting out more on the weekends and maybe it has helped. If I ever get the crap in the air to stop sending the allergies into fits I will be in good shape. But the weather is decent and I am definitely feeling more motivated.
Isn't it silly how something stupid like dropping a little weight can make your mood so much better. But I have been hanging onto the plateau for a very long time and I am hopeful that I may have cracked it finally. If I get to the 140's there will be no living with me!!!
Have a good weekend all and I'll be thinking of you as I try to "behave". Thanks for being here!
Thank you all for the warming welcome!
Unfortunately my first weight in is no good. Have put on 2kg and I know why.
Have increased my daily intake calories and it didn't work as I thought it would. Tomorrow I will be back to my regular intake and hopefully this undesired weight will fade away.

Simone - 80kg or 176.36 (my apologies, but I can't think in lbs!)
I am so sorry to be a pain in the neck, but ... this Saturday morning I had to weight again and surprise surprise! 79kg or 174.16lbs!!!
It's such a HUGE difference! (I know it's not, being cheecky!)![]()
Hopefully the weight will come out until Wednesday (have started the kellogg's two meals a day today) because I will be measured and weighted by my Personal Trainer. Very excited about it!
What can I do to keep my mind off food?
If you are well fed and engaged in what you are doing, then you should not be thinking about food all of the time. Preoccupation with... Read more
