I'll show him!

Quote  |  Reply

Okay for about a year I keep saying to my husband"this time I am really dedicated and I am going to lose the weight" and everytime I lose motivation very quickly and quit.

SO, yesterday we are sitting at the table and I say"I am really going to do it, I already lost almost 3 pounds" and he looks at me with a smug look on his face and says"okay" I could read him like a book he was thinking "whatever, your doomed to be fat"

Several years ago I calorie counted and lost 18 pounds and I looked and felt awesome.  I have since then been pregnant and had a baby and not really motivated.

But this time something has really clicked, I really feel that I can and will do this. Just like I felt when I lost the weight several years ago. Before I just wanted to lose weight but got sick of counting calories. This time I am determined to lose weight and I know I can do this!!!!

So I am not announcing my weight loss to him or anything. Of course he will see me counting my calories however I will not say a word about a pound I have lost. I won't tell him.......I'll show him!

good job. i wish you the best of luck in kicking that smug look right off his face.
i think thats a great idea, good luck! come to us at CC whenever you have a weak moment.
Good luck, I bet my hubby a grand that I would lose more weight then him in the next six months that I am deployed so we will see who wins. Of course I did not want to come bakc to a fat guy either so I hope it will motivate him.
Sometimes having someone NOT believe in you is just what you need to accomplish a goal.  The sweet taste of proving someone wrong is a reward in itself.
ohhhh don't you just want to smack (not really) smug men.  I know you can do it!!!!

And you will be eating healthier and be a good influence and good habits for your baby.

I'm rooting for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny thing is my husband is super supportive. He probably is just getting sick of hearing me say that and nothing ever happening.

Hey I am so dedicated this time..........I'm bringing sexy back.........there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't a train!

I'm sorry to hear that your husband doesn't believe in you more but I am proud of you for wanting to show him (AND YOURSELF!) that you can do this.   My husband has been super supportive too which, I find, makes it easier.  Good luck!

Good luck!!!! You can do it!!!! :) I'm pulling for you, too!!!!!!
that way really kick started me to start cc. I used to always say I'm on a diet I'm on a diet or I just started a new diet. I would never drop a lb. When I really got serious I dint say a word to anybody I just did it. 20lbs later it's working and people are noticing. Good luck. I'm sure your husband will be shocked when you do it.

I'm a stay-at-home wife and mom since we've moved to Texas just over a month ago.  And that, coupled with finding cc, has helped me very much.  I've lost seven pounds, which I could never do when I was a working woman - even though all the other women in my office were almost always on one diet or another -

I have to wonder if somewhere deep inside, secretly, some women try to sabotage others' attempts to lose weight and get fit.  Because now that I'm here by myself, I'm doing very well.

so michelle, sometimes just doin' it for yourself is what it takes.  then later you can tell him "i told you so."  :)

congrats and I think this place is great for support and motivation!

i think my bf has heard me say several times that i was on a diet.....and im sure hes pretty sick of me saying 'waaah, i cant go out..i feel fat' lol. i know its so annoying but it just comes out.

i need to just DO IT and stop putting it off.. and i dont think im gonna tell him either that im on a diet or tell him how much weight i have lost. im just gonna eat smaller portions.. like if we get take out and stuff.
I think I have his attention now LOL He said a little bit ago"did you exercise today?" and I said"not yet" (even though I walked my son to school and my dog to the groomers) and he said"you look different, like better" "you look like you have already lost some weight"  I just simply said" I have" and I dropped it............that boy hasn't seen anything yet:)
Congrats ladies, I am glad I found cc too. It is helping me see what I eat and exactly how many calories are really in food. Lets keep up the hard work. My hubby told me that I still havent lost the weight form the baby and I have been trying for a while. He said it like he didn't believe I was gonna do it. I can't wait til he sees me in march
Good luck to you, and i understand how that feels, my fience dose the same thing like "oh another video tape you'll never use"  About 2 weeks ago i decided i was going to finish what i started, so iam committed to 12 weeks currently on week 3.

Best of luck to you, lets show them what were made of!
My ex-H drove me crazy. He said negative things to me about my weight from the beginning. Why the heck I married someone with such weight issues I'll never know. Eventually he just made nasty comments about food - he'd get angry if I bought ice cream or made cookies for the kids. I was married to him for 25 years and when we divorced I was shocked to find out that other people did not find me disgusting!

My current husband tells me I'm beautiful and sexy everyday. I can't stand the thought of dissapointing him (although in truth, he probably wouldn't be) so if my weight starts to creep up, I go into action.

I guess I'm a fan of positive reinforcement!
