Okay for about a year I keep saying to my husband"this time I am really dedicated and I am going to lose the weight" and everytime I lose motivation very quickly and quit.
SO, yesterday we are sitting at the table and I say"I am really going to do it, I already lost almost 3 pounds" and he looks at me with a smug look on his face and says"okay" I could read him like a book he was thinking "whatever, your doomed to be fat"
Several years ago I calorie counted and lost 18 pounds and I looked and felt awesome. I have since then been pregnant and had a baby and not really motivated.
But this time something has really clicked, I really feel that I can and will do this. Just like I felt when I lost the weight several years ago. Before I just wanted to lose weight but got sick of counting calories. This time I am determined to lose weight and I know I can do this!!!!
So I am not announcing my weight loss to him or anything. Of course he will see me counting my calories however I will not say a word about a pound I have lost. I won't tell him.......I'll show him!
And you will be eating healthier and be a good influence and good habits for your baby.
I'm rooting for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny thing is my husband is super supportive. He probably is just getting sick of hearing me say that and nothing ever happening.
Hey I am so dedicated this time..........I'm bringing sexy back.........there is a light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't a train!
I'm sorry to hear that your husband doesn't believe in you more but I am proud of you for wanting to show him (AND YOURSELF!) that you can do this. My husband has been super supportive too which, I find, makes it easier. Good luck!
I'm a stay-at-home wife and mom since we've moved to Texas just over a month ago. And that, coupled with finding cc, has helped me very much. I've lost seven pounds, which I could never do when I was a working woman - even though all the other women in my office were almost always on one diet or another -
I have to wonder if somewhere deep inside, secretly, some women try to sabotage others' attempts to lose weight and get fit. Because now that I'm here by myself, I'm doing very well.
so michelle, sometimes just doin' it for yourself is what it takes. then later you can tell him "i told you so." :)
congrats and I think this place is great for support and motivation!
i need to just DO IT and stop putting it off.. and i dont think im gonna tell him either that im on a diet or tell him how much weight i have lost. im just gonna eat smaller portions.. like if we get take out and stuff.
Best of luck to you, lets show them what were made of!
My current husband tells me I'm beautiful and sexy everyday. I can't stand the thought of dissapointing him (although in truth, he probably wouldn't be) so if my weight starts to creep up, I go into action.
I guess I'm a fan of positive reinforcement!
