I'm allergic to my air conditioner.
I've been starting to have this horrid allergic reaction every time I enter my condo. We keep the air conditioner on 73 at all times because I have a high sensitivity to heat and San Diego is too darn hot..
Anywho, I am going to beg for them to change my air filter, but my mother wants me to go in for an allergy test because I've always had sensitivity to basically anything and everything as far as the summer goes.
If anyone has had an allergy test, how does it go? I've heard that they stick a ton of needles in your back.. is that true? Needles are my worst enemy.. so if someone can let me knwo what I'm in for I won't have to feel like a nerd asking the receptionist when I make a doctors appointment..
Have you tried switching off the air-conditioner first? It could be that there's something else in your apartment that is causing the reaction and you could miss that if you're looking at the air-conditioner.
We did last night.. I nearly died of sweating, but the air quality was about 100% better with the windows open and the air off. =/
They put on your skin drops of allergens n scratch u with a needle a bit, really nothing painful or anything (I am afraid of needles as well n it didn't bother me at all ^_^). Here they do it on your arms, so u have to sit for half an hour without moving your hands, so it's pretty boring.
It depends. When I was 5 they did the test on my back. I went in last year and they did one on my arm, you don't see any needles and it doesn't hurt. They have a little plastic thing that has tiny needles on the bottom and just push it into your arm, they are not deep at all and you barely feel it.
Change your filter and look into getting a HEPA filter.
