Usually in the morning before I eat is when I feel the best, like this diet is really working, but i haven't seen any movement in the scale. Nine days ago I was at 160...I got on this morning and there's no change at all. I know I can't expect it to just fall off, but I was hoping to see something in a little over a week.

Blehhh...

Now that I'm done ranting, I was curious to see if anyone has any low-cal breakfast ideas?

My usual breakfast is a whole grain english muffin(100 cals) with soy ham(2 pieces=35 calories), american cheese(60 cals), and one egg(70 cals). I usually add a little bit of fruit or yogurt as well. I'm getting bored though so what are some other ideas??

are you doing any exercise to boost your metabolism?  Perhaps you have cut back on calories but only maintaining your weight.  Were you gaining before you started or did you just hang out at 160.   I am pondering this for myself as well.  I had been gaining about 5 lbs a month lately so now that I have my calories in check (CC allows 2050 and I'm coming in more like 2300 til I can whittle it down).  I had been consuming probably 3000 or more calories so I may have stopped the gaining, but may be maintaining.  see?  I just started here a couple days ago, so all this info I'm tracking is helping me.  Like today, I now wish I had not eaten that 140 cal granola bar or had two beers with dinner.  Nearly 400 cals right there, baby!!  Ug!

Okay, you asked for other breakfast ideas:  One whole egg and two egg whites, scrambled with pico de gallo (fresh chunky salsa) and wrapped up in a high fiber, low carb tortilla.  One more for you:  Baked eggs - spray a ramekin with nonstick spray and put two eggs, some chopped basil, 1 Tablespoon fat free half and half and 1/4 cup lowfat cheese.   Bake in a bain marie (water bath) til eggs are soft cooked to your liking.  Serve with one slice of wheat toast and some low sugar jam.        ;       &n bsp;        ;

That's the thing about losing weight, you will NOT see results that early.  You have to have patience and keep going.  Don't keep running to the scale for the next couple weeks because I can almost guarantee you it won't change.  Keep eating healthy and exercise.  Soon enough you will start seeing results.  That's why it is hard for people to stay on it, they don't see results immeadiately.  But you will!

As for finding new foods, just invent new stuff.  I always have a peanut butter and banana sandwich for lunch which is quite amazing.  Make sandwiches with different deli meat every day.  Make salads with different salad dressing.  Throw some fruit on your cereal.  Just don't bore yourself.  Keep going, you got it.  :)

Navyoke--I know how you feel. It is so easy to get discouraged. I am new to this program, and what a change I have made. I feel like the scale should be moving way faster than it is. Then I realize that I didn't gain all this weight in 2 weeks, so why do I think I should lose it that fast?

I have heard a few people mention in other threads and articles that we should allow more calories in our breakfasts than in our other meals because it will help keep energy levels up and hunger levels down.

Honestly, I have a Slim Fast Optima every morning with 1 serving of Special K and 1% Milk. It totals about 400 calories, which is a bit high, but I am full for hours afterwards. Also, everything there is loaded with nutrients.

I hope this helps...Stay strong!!

I agree with michelle_bachelor. I'm starting new again (I lost 20 pounds two years ago but gained it back mostly with the freshmen 15). I've been good at my diet for a week now and I lost two pounds and this morning on the scale they were back. But what I learned last time was that it takes a few weeks to start loosing and its always slower than what it should be.

For breakfast I drink a low-carb slimfast. Its only 4 carbs and it has 20g of protein (190 calories). It actually tastes edible. Then I put a piece of fruit in my purse. But I've always been a snacker.  So the fruit gets me to lunch.

yes, i am also exercising. i get on my treadmill and walk 30 minutes, then add crunches, push ups, lunges, etc...i end up burning about 150+ calories. I am also a student, so i also walk around campus a lot while at school. not to mention i have a job as a cashier where i lift things and im constantly moving. there's always plenty going on to keep me active. ive been trying to eat more fresh foods (fruits, veggies, whole grains...) recently and less of the processed foods with the high sodium content. i think will be a good start.

all the good foods are making me feel much better and i definitely have more energy, so ive just got to wait it out and keep doing what im doing!

thanks for all of your responses! Smile

Love the ides mykanosdelight...I had not done the baked eggs...I do egg white scramble with peppers, spinach and 1/2 wedge of laughing cow cheese.  400 cal..isnt much if you are excercising and every one needs a beer or two once in a while..I am abstaining for now...so the second one was for meLaughing

I am afraid to get on the scale...I have not started to excercise and need to.  Just found the sight last week.  JoAnne

I know how you feel. I went from 150 to 129 from august to mid-november.

too bad ive been stuck at that weight since. why does this suck so bad? because it makes me feel TERRIBLE. but i just keep working at it. and you need to just keep trying, too.

i've been having the isagenix shakes and they are so filling and only 250 calories, i put blueberries in them & hemp seed, they taste great and last me till lunch, they are full of fiber and protien so they are sustaining. I like that feeling of full, and they give that!

And after you check out (((ISAGENIX!!!!))), you can check out (((AMWAY!!!))) and (((HERBALIFE!!!))), I hear that they also have miraculous products that will FIX EVERYTHING WRONG WITH YOUR BODY AND LIFE!!! All for only just 9 easy payments of $39.99!!!! I used to be a short fat slob working at McDonald's but now with Dave Del Dotto's Cash Flow Secrets©, I'm a thin, tall multi-multi-millionaire with a bevy of bimbos on my yacht!

Another thing that will help is to be sure to drink plenty of water. I used to be a skoffer at that but it really does help even things out on the scale. You could be loosing fat but picking up water due to the sodium in your diet and the scale wouldn't tell you.

I have the same basic breadfast most days (oatmeal w sliced almonds and some kind of fruit.)  Every now and then I'll make egg beater omlets or high fiber/extra egg (beaters) pancakes. There really are many, many options for breakfast.  I recently read that people eat less when they have less variety in their diet. I can believe that because I get kind of excited about new things and want more. Guess you just have to really plan out portions and not go by how you feel.

I'm feeling the same way. I have been working out and monitoring my eating habits since December 27, 2007 and have seen little results on the scale. I'm feeling energized and a little lighter so I haven't given up yet. It's that time of the month so I think that's why I've gained a little weight. My main goal is to be energized and I've been feeling that so now I'm wanting to lose weight in the process. All I can tell you, like I've been telling myself, is give it time and look at your habits and change what may need to be changed (if anything).
