I'm back with the same issues
Not only have I NOT been losing any weight, I have been gaining lately. I am careful what I eat, have a good idea of my caloric intake each day and still I feel like I must be doing something wrong.
I do weight training and cardio 3-4x a week. At first I thougt my muscle mass might have something to do with it. When I wear clothes the thigh area still feels a bit tight. I'm not sure if this is muscle development or I'm just eating the wrong way.
Even though I take the following into consideration I am wondering if I need to take this out of my daily diet-as I crave it everyday. This is low-fat vanilla yogurt mixed with abouat 1-2 T of organic p.b. To this I add about 1/2 cup of pure oatmeal-no instant stuff. Other than that I eat salads 2x a day and one or two fruits a day. I also drink a proein shake on days I do weight training which consists of a full scoop of the protein powder, maybe a couple T of low fat yogurt and 1/2 banana and a few strawberries.
I've been trying to get back under 130, and closer to my goal of 122-125. Nothing is happening. I am 5'3" and I will be 55 in September-so yes I am still 54.
Any suggestions?
p.s. when I work out I do at least 90 minutes to 130 minutes. So, really, what the heck else can I do?
I usually take in about 1400-1600 a day-on days I work out.
1400-1600 calories a day on days you work out isn't enough. I would try upping that. I'd also play around with your diet. Your fruit and dairy intake seem okay, but depending on what you're adding to your salad, try adding in some more veggies. If you're not a vegetarian, add some protein, besides the protein powder, and where are your carbs? The yogurt mix you have in the morning is probably fine, but if you aren't eating enough the rest of the day, you will slow your metabolism. Again, that does depend heavily on what your salads consist of.
Y'know I eat basically the same things day in and day out.
Salads and oatmeal with p.b. & yogourt make up my daily intake. I rarely vary from this.
Would I have better luck if I were to change up my diet from time to time. Like exercise, if you do the same ones all the time their results get lessened.
Is this the same with diet
And in my salads I have my different lettuces, cucs' carrots, protein (chicken, tuna, or cottage cheese. Or sometimes I do the vegetarin one with almonds, and I count them out, raisins, and sunflower seeds.
Any ideas ladies?
What kind of proteins, fruits, carbs and fats are you consuming?
I eat my yogurt almost the same way, but with 6% Balkan yogurt, rolled oats, honey and cinnamon, sometimes adding a banana or strawberries.
Well you definitely need more variety in your diet. Your body is probably starved for a whole bunch of different nutrients, vitamins, minerals etc. that are not available in the foods you are eating. I'd try changing up your exercise routine, in fact, you should do that at least monthly. Make sure it's intense enough to get your heart rate up high enough that it's doing you some good. I've seen lots of people that workout 60-90 minutes a week, but they are doing the same routine, at the same intensity they've done for months, they're body has adjusted and found a way to do it very efficiently. Efficiently = burning as few calories as possible to get the same result.
I've found it very effective to have protein at every meal when it comes to losing weight. Studies have shown this to be true and I've found it to be true in practice.
To me it sounds like you need some more protein and fat. Peanut butter has fat and protein in it, but really I don't think you can eat enough of it to get all your essentials in per day without making yourself sick. Even if you are drinking a shake.
Shakes are so yucky. *Gags*
