..Im back... and trying not to be obsessed again..

So I started back in December at 155.  went dow (slowly) to around 145 now Im at 150.  I stopped doing CC because I was so OBSESSED with food.  It was all I thought about... I measured everything. It was totally annoying... I countinued to make better eating choices and was working out  a few days a week... but then I got sick with the flu and havent gotten motivated to work out again yet.  It sucks last week I went to the doc and this time last year I was at 135!!!  Thats 15lbs.  I want it gone!!!  Im gonna try again :)  Hopefully this time it works better.

I'm not trying to downplay the reality that some people are obsessed with dieting, but I do have to say that counting calories is no more an obsession than balancing your checkbook.

Let's face it -- we all got into this trouble because we overate and we made poor choices in food.  To correct the problem, we need to be sure we eat the correct amount of the right food.

Those are not habits that most of us can just immediately develop.  We don't wake up one morning and say, ok, no more overeating and no more junk food, and from that day on eat exactly as we are supposed to.

It takes weeks, maybe months, maybe years of retraining.  We first have to learn or relearn what foods are healthy.  We have to learn or relearn what a portion is.  We have to kick some addictions.  We have to literally train ourselves to respond differently when our buttons are pushed. 

Yes it occupies a great deal of our time, focus, and energy.  But that is the way it has to be for a great many of us or else we will never lick the problem.
I totally agree with the above! ^^ :) You can do it! It's "only" 15 pounds. :)
Oh I know I can do it ... and I know its my fault im here.... Its just that counting is really a big pain in the ass... but I understand its necessarry.  Its like for lunch today I had a big salad with lots of yummies on it... tomotaes, carrots, clelry, 1/2 hard boiled egg and garbonzo beans.... thats a pain to figure out how much is in it.  I think for me I need to be more in tune with my body... I need to stop eating when Im full!!  thats my main problem.
