O_O Does it hurt? DOES IT HURT!?

What I'd be saying is; does it matter?! YOU ARE SO LUCKY! Laughing I have to keep these darned things on my teeth another year and a half!

One thing is, you might have to eat softer, easier-to-chew foods again for a while, like you did when they put your braces on. But look at it this way - once that's over, you'll be free for life!

I got my braces off like 3 years ago. Haha, I don't remember it hurting when they were taking them off. Now what hurts is when you put your retainer in for the first time. :/
i don't remember it hurting at all, i remember it felt weird that you could run your tongue along the front of your teeth though
My son had his removed at the beginning of this school year, and he didn't have any complaints about pain.

The cost of replacing a retainer that didn't survive even a month hurt me, however....!

lucky,lucky,lucky!!

it didnt hurt to put them on... so i doubt it hurt to take 'em off!

Congratulations! As said above, I mostly remember running my tongue across my top teeth because it feels weird and slimy. You really have to wear that retainer though! I didn't and my teeth moved back quite a bit, what a waste of pain and money.

Actually, it did hurt a bit, when they were yanking them off my teeth, but it was worth it!

I don't remember my teeth feeling slimey, but I did feel self-conscious about how big they looked!

All is well now, my ortho gave me an invisi-lign retainer, and I love it.

Congrats!!

No it doesn't hurt,  I remember i just wanted to SMILE :D BIG when i got them off.

*MEGA jealous*!!!!!
Hey There,

I am an orthodontic assistant, and i'd love to give you some tips! The day you get your braces off you should take some tylenol or advil about an hour before bc it is not uncommon for you to feel some pressure. Most of the time patients are more sensitive around the front teeth, but keep in mind everyones pain tolerance is different and you may not have ANY problems. Keep in mind that your teeth have just undergone months of movement so yes they may be sore, and your gums may be puffy. You are going to want to chew lots of sugar free gum and brush your gums to get them to go down. CONGRATS and enjoy!

P.S. i have braces too and i'm VERY jealious :(

ah!! CONGRATS!!!!!

that is so awesome you are getting them off!!

How do you feel? do you look uber-awesome!? xD You posted this yesterday.. :D

ahhhh it feels GREAT!!! i cant stop smiling!!! it really hurt either :D

its definently worth the wait  though :)
