So, I'm calculating the numbers for the new Biggest Loser and ...

...her BMI is 18.9 and she's classified as underweight. I thought waaaay to  go Helen and was happy for her, but thought she looked and little like a bobble head. LOL! Now, I like Helen, so I am not a hater. Anywho, her new weight is currently the same as mine and I am 5'3". I was curious of her height and how that weight fell on her. She is 5'6"!!!

I am a little weirded by that fact. So many people are motivated by that, but I am told my goals are too low. I'm confused. Not saying that it's healthy, unhealthy...just that weight loss can't be rewarded under one context and questioned in another.

I did have a brief moment of sympathy for Tara as well. I really wanted her to win and when she didn't and I realized Helen was classified as underweight and rewarded...I kinda cringed. What are we really rewarding???

Did anyone else notice that or think this too?

I don't believe that she's 5'6" first of all.  I think she's maybe 5'3" and they all lie up about their height.  Secondly, isn't 18 still in the technically healthy range but on the cusp?  She looked tiny but great in my opinion.  She just needs to get some of that extra skin cut off.

I didn't think Helen looked underweight. But hearing her stats, I think it's kind of crazy. I am an inch taller than Helen and I'm pretty sure I'd be emaciated at that weight (when at 140 lbs I am like a 4/6). I have a large frame for a woman. But still.

I have to agree with jafried -- I actually think helen is quite a bit shorter than they are saying. Even next to Tara it appears that there is way more than 3 inches of difference in height between the two of them.  In fact I just posted this on the other BL thread before I saw this one...

I guess in the end it's all percentage that wins it, from beginning to end, so the height thing doesn't matter from that vantage point. If she really is 5'6" and that weight, I'd be shocked though. Wouldn't she look even more thin?!?!? And really emaciated?

Ok, I'm old, but does anyone remember Skelator from the He-Man cartoon?  Helen looked like that.  I read that she is 5'6" and Tara is 5'9".  I think 117 is way too low for Helen.  I hope she puts on 15 pounds so she looks healthy.  Too extreme IMO.
