I'm going on a cruise...

Okay, in January I'm going on a cruise with my family to the Bahamas ( I can't wait!). But I'm scared I'm going to overeat or eat junk food the whole time. Have any ideas or tips for me?

Yep, as stated above, enjoy in moderation. Keep up with a little exercise and you'll be fine. Just panic if you overeat a little, no damage to your diet will be permanent.

The problem is, the food is in your face all the time.  You just have to make good choices and walk as far away from the buffet as you can!  Don't deprive yourself but decide on what you really want.  Have fun!

How AWESOME!!!  Congrats on your future cruise.  I have yet to take one.  Make good choices, lots of veggies and remember to work out.

Enjoy! And be sure to tell us what you enjoyed.

Wow, I hope you have a wonderful time, if your worried about over eating, try filling up on soup or salad first and then you might not eat as much of the bad stuff.  But you should really just enjoy yourself and get back at it when you return, its not every day that you get to go on a cruise.

I went on a cruise a few years ago, and before I left someone told me that people gain an average of 7lbs on cruises!!  So I ate all the tasty things, but in moderation, kept the drinking to a minimum, did active things like swimming and walking and went to the gym everyday while the rest of the group was having an afternoon nap/cocktails before dinner.

It's hard to convince yourself to go to the gym when no one else is, but you'll thanks yourself when you come off that boat lighter, or at the very least, the same weight as when you got on.

Good luck!!

Im a travel agent and I have been on lots of cruises.  Honestly, I never gain weight on them because I am so busy walking all over the boat or doing the shore excursions.

Keep yourself active and as the others have stated, eat in moderation, but I am sure you will be fine!  Try to find excursions where you walk or swim or climb- those are the most fun anyway.

Have fun!

Thanks everyone for the tips! I found out they have a 24 hour open gym so I'm going to try and do that a least for 30 minutes a day.
