I'm in dire need of a petite weight loss buddy.
Hello my name is Nancy and today I realized I need a buddy for support. I'm all alone and I just need someone to talk to. I'm 4'11" and I started off at 150. Today I am at 128 but I can't sem to lose anything. Anyways, I'd like someone who is about my height and my weight. My long term goal is 90lbs. Thank You!
hey Nancy -- i just saw your post and wanted to respond so that you weren't "hanging"..i am petite too -- 5' even so I completely understand your challenges of losing at this height -- which i happen to think are very unique! I am actually in the very last leg of my weight loss journey (currently holding at 109lbs and trying to get these last pesky 4-5lbs off.) I definately couldn't get down to 90lbs, i work out too much and i love my curves too much. HOWEVER, I can relate. Take it in small increments at a time -- that's A LOT of weight you want to lose and i think that it will feel longer if you are fixated on a NUMBER rather than HOW YOU FEEL. you have come so far!!! you should FEEL REAL PROUD OF YOURSELF!
how many calories are you eating? are you working out..if so what are you doing? let's look at your stats and see what needs to be changed up...how long have you 'stopped losing' or are you just not losing as fast as you want?
let's start there..
Hi Nancy, I'm 4'11" and 124 pounds (starting weight 127.6 about 6 weeks ago) and I'd really like to be 115 by the end of the summer. I would LIKE to be closer to 100 pounds but I don't think that's sustainable while I'm in college (and fighting off weight gain everytime I'm in school) so I'd rather maintain a slightly higher weight. That said, I'm stuck - losing weight when you're short is SO FREAKING HARD. Your calories need to be perfect and if you skip just ONE DAY of exercise it sets you back!
Hi Nancy, congratulations on your weight loss thus far, that is AMAZING!
I am also petite ... though I am 5'1" I am very small boned. I am currently 111 lbs and want to hit 100 lbs. I lost 35 lbs in 2007 and hit and maintained my goal for a year but have gained 10+ lbs in the past 9 months. Not fun.
Let's keep each other accountable.
Hey nancy:)
I saw your post and couldnt walk by( well rather read by) without posting.I would love to be your buddy especially since we are in the same predicament. You are one of the only people i have seen on this site that is coming from the exact same place i was. My stats:
20 yr F
4'11
starting weight:155
current weight: 105.5
goal weight:95 or possibly lower
I know the goal weight might look a little extreme but originally my goal weight was 105, i just hit it and i still have a good amount of fat left on my body which isnt in my head since most people who see me think im 130, and i have absolutely NO muscle definition even though i run 3 miles everyday, do boxing 4 times a week,i lift and do calesthetics nearly everyday and i can feel the muscle underneath my fat . . . i just cant see it :( sooo we can help and motivate each other to get to our goals by the end of the summer:)
Thanks for all your responses. Currently I walk/run 4 miles everyday and eat about 1000 or less calories. It's low but actually its really not since I'm so short. It's just frustrating because these 3 weeks I've lost about 3 pounds!! I guess I need to do something besides run..
I am right there with you, our stats are almost identical. I am teetering on the 4'11 to 5'0 range and 127 pounds, also wanting to get down to atleast 100. I've been doing this all of June and only lost 3 pounds. I feel like I'm never going to get there :(
Hi! I totally get how you feel about being so petite and having to lose weight. Like others have mentioned before, weight loss does seem to be harder for us than others just cuz of our small frames and height (and any weight gain certainly shows alot on us!!) I'm 5'0, and I started at 155 and now I'm from 107-110 depending on fluctuations. My goal is to be about 104 cuz I do have some muscle tone. Keep up the work! There are times I just never thought the weight would go away, but persistence is the key!
supiyupi -- congrats on your incredible weight loss!! can you please share how you lost so much weight -- how many calories are you/did you eat..what about workouts? I am at such a loss and really need to hear some perspective from someone who is the same profile as me!!! thanks so much!!
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
