I'm drowning in water
I've stopped drinking everything except for H2O. It makes me feel great, but I have NOT noticed any weight loss with it. I have heard everyone who has lost alot of weight say that they drank tons of water.
How long have you been drinking only water?
Just simply drinking only water won't take any weight off you. People consume more water when trying to lose weight to curb the sodium levels in the body and basically makes it easier to flush the toxins out of the body.
Calorie deficit is the only way to lose weight. You can eat anything. You can drink anything. Bit as long as you consume less calories than your body needs to function ( the deficit) you will lose weight.
Now if you exercise and eat healthier foods and drink loads of water you will be healthier and you will lose weight easier.
Atleast a couple of months. I try to do atleat 80 oz a day!!!!! Seriously!!!
Water only for a couple of months??
is that not long enough??
Are you tracking your calories? Drinking water is good for weight loss, but it isn't magic - you still have to eat less (but not too much less) than you burn.
I drink AT LEAST 4-5 LITRES of water a day, and my weight has been pretty stable for quite some time.
I drink and PEE more then any one I know hahaha, but yet I'm not whithering away because of how much H2O I consume
you need to stick to a wholesome CLEAN diet, participate in regular excersize, and consume enough QUALITY calories to support weightloss and daily activity (do not starve yourself, as this can slow metabolism and weightloss efforts while leaving you feeling irritable and depressed)
BUT you NEED water, always, everyday, for the rest of your life... your body is made up of nearly 70% water so it only makes sense to replenish it constantly. Water flushes out toxins, helps digestion, keeps skin clear and hydrated, and assists in basically every bodily function... keep drinkin, you'll feel good and look great!
Cramenxox I know what you mean. I pee so many times a day now its crazy but at least I'm keeping hydrated for cross country. Lol
I think most people that lose weight from switching to water is the ones that dranked alot of calories like soda or anything else with alot of calories.
I went from drinken nothing but soda all day long to drinken nothing but water now and it has helped alot with losing weight
I think sheris75 is confused:
Drinking water doesn't make you lose weight. You have to 'diet' as well as drink plenty of water for you to lose weight.
Have you made any other changes in your diet while drinking water?
Actually, I am not confused at all. YES, I have made alot of changes. I know that water alone doesn't make you lose weight but I was under the impression from all the articles I have read that comsuming a certain amount of water along with a healthy diet will help you lose more.

If you are using water to REPLACE past calorie packed beverages then yes it is an easy way to cut calories without much effort
most people when they 'diet' try to avoid drinking their calories because liquids are not as filling as solid food, so it's all too easy to consume more then you wanted to
water also helps to regulate hunger, and can make meals seem more filling if drank before and during the meal... fyi a good way to slow down eating and possibly eat less is to drink about 250-500ml of water before meals
drinking a cup of hot tea (with no milk, cream or sugar) after meals will also help you feel more satisfied... in my opinion anyways haha, the warmth is soothing and gives my hands and mouth something to do while I chill out and let my food digest
this is what I do. Drink 2 cups of water about 10 minutes before meals. By the time dinner comes it's almost like I'm only eating because I have too and not want to. Drink a cup while eating. Doing this I cna only manage to eat half of what's on the plate most nights.
What type of food should not be eaten?
Calorie Count does not prescribe a particular diet or tell people to avoid particular foods. We only ask that you eat a balanced diet... Read more
