I started losing weight a couple months ago and started on this website just over a month ago. apparently im supposed to have 1500 calories a day but im actually having to eat more to do that! Sometimes i eat about 600 calories and sometimes 1300 but i find it so hard to get above. please could someone try and help me and give me tips or something. Oh and im 18 years old, 5"8 and 195 pounds. Yeah i know it seems weird that im rather heavy and not eating enough but yeah. help please!

Maybe you need to space out your meals differently... I don't know you or your habits, but I'll try to help. =] Maybe you should plan 5 balanced 300 calorie "meals" per day, and stick to it the best you can. It's unlikely you're getting proper nutrition with so few calories. Even if you do lose some weight, your metabolism will slow eventually. You don't need to be underweight to get all the negative side effects of starvation... Trust me, I know, I've been there. It's not fun. If you're concerned, check a sample meal plan on the internet.

Aaaaanyway sorry for being preachy, hope I can help =]

thanks :). i have really bad sleeping habits where i cant sleep til about 4am and then i find it really hard to wake up, no matter how much sleep ive had. im working on that now but its so hard! i think that your right that im not getting enough nutrition because i dont know all that much about food. i dont lose weight when im not eating enough calories but i feel like im eating too much if i have 1500. i will try and space meals out...and wake up.

thanks for your help

been there...i'll tell you what i have told everybody else. it helps me to drink high protein slim fast in the morning, it gets me going and adds a few hundred calories making it much easier to get everything i need for the day. the bottom line is that if you don't eat enough calories you will go into starvation mode and your body will hang on to everything. as soon as i started actually eating all of the calories i need in a day the weight started falling off.

as far as sleeping habits - my doctor told me to take a few benadryl at night if i am having a hard time sleeping. apparently benadryl is one of those things that you can take every day without it having any bad effects on your body.  maybe you could try taking those a few nights until you get your sleeping pattern under control? if i take one at 8 i can barely keep my eyes open until 9.

What are you eating? I only know things from my own experience and I sleep very well if I exercise and not well at all if I don't. Just another random opinion.

Good luck.
